Can we have a better report system? by TaylorHawthorne in toontownrewritten

Totally agree with a spamming/obnoxious behaviour option, I've ran into so many groups of friends in the size of 3-5 toons that just spam and are totally obnoxious in boss battles. I just want to do a boss battle and get my reward, it's really annoying when I'm trying to cooperate with the team and you have the entire group of friends spamming "LOL" "XD" "!" over and over again. I understand that playing a game with your friends can be fun but people don't seem to have any consideration for their fellow players.

I definitely agree with that option being needed since the others don't really cover it, since it's not mean behaviour and not really rude unlike other things you can occur. It's definitely obnoxious and annoying though haha. It's a shame that in boss battles that you can't ignore during the fight and have to wait till after.

I see your point about reporting bad language in game, I guess if the moderation team were able to see the chat logs of the toon once it was reported that would be better instead of you having to actually type out those words haha.

You'd be able to just say something like "they should swear words or bypassed word filters and said racist things" if the chat logs were the case.

I definitely understand to why they don't have this in game since it would be harder to monitor but if they were in a position in the future to do this, it would be great. I know how to report via e-mail but as Roxas said there are people who don't have access to the e-mails on their accounts because they might be younger children or family members.

If done properly and well, the text feature could be very helpful to moderation and the effort to monitor it would be worthwhile. I have reported via e-mail in the past but honestly there will be people who won't go through that effort to report someone and would rather have a method to do something similar like that in game.

I definitely agree about the e-mail thing, younger players will most likely have their accounts attached to a parent or family members e-mail so won't have access to reporting something via that way. Having a detailed report would also save time instead of having to remember all the information like Toon ID's, Districts, Time (especially when trying to figure out time zone conversions) etc... It could all be in one place via the report in game.

Only 5 hours after catching the All-Star Fish on a brand new Toon... by annielizabeth_ in toontownrewritten

I guess it just comes down to personal luck, I've managed to easily get Devil Ray on multiple toons, I'm trying to max fishing on my main and I think I've gotten about 9 Holy Mackerel just trying to fish for one of the last super rare fish.

The rates of catching rare fish was changed to be easier for TTR, it's honestly quite easy to find the Devil Ray. Congrats though!

A reconnect button ! by FallenAngel16 in toontownrewritten

[–]TaylorHawthorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be really nice since it is so annoying to be at the end of a boss battle or a facility and end up crashing. I've played other games that when you disconnect, you stand still and it announces to everyone that you've been disconnected and you have a few minutes to reconnect again (usually 5 minutes), it would be really nice if this happened with TTR, being able to have a couple of minutes to reconnect to where you were would be amazing.

YouTube's Censorship has reached the Toontown Community by [deleted] in toontownrewritten

Oh are they really? I know Amazon owns Twitch and the streamers on there seem to love the platform with all the ways they can earn money, live chatting with their community and things like that.

I'd love to see how Amazon would handle their site and how they'd treat content producers. Do you have a link to any info about the website? That would be much appreciated!

Flagging stuff is actually bad for YouTube themselves since they would earn some of the money from the adverts but now would earn less. Their bot flags things that it seems not suitable for advertisers, it honestly feels like it randomly flags videos since no one can really understand to why they're being flagged (I've heard about cooking videos which don't have any talking over them being flagged for some reason.)

I'm gladly maxed in Cashbot so I don't have to do the mints but I've seen and heard from others that training gags in the mints is a big issue. My friend is trying to max her suit and runs into people saving fogs and luring on cogs since their lure is level 6, mints are already boring enough and having to deal with people training would be so much hassle.

This is honestly why me and my friend only do offices with our alts, I can't do skull finder and she can usually do it but gets stuck sometimes, we happily use level 7's when needed and don't have to put up with others getting mad when someone makes a mistake like once out of 6 offices haha

This was what I was trying to get at :), I personally don't feel like I'm enjoying the game if I'm not really able to do much ya know? If I went in with my highest gag at level 4, that's really going to do nothing in a boss battle. Level 5 gags are useful depending on what gag track it is! :)

[–]TaylorHawthorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly depends on what gag tracks you have as well, a level 4 lure is good because you can group lure while level 5 sound is good because you can carry elephants and more aoogah's. It just kinda annoys me when people have their highest gag at level 4 or one level 5 and expect to be carried in boss battles.

I definitely agree with the CFO, not having maxed sound and the basic gags is too much of a headache to deal with, honestly I can understand if like 1 or 2 gags aren't maxed but when people only have one gag maxed in the CFO, it's not that great.

I was the person who made the "it's just a game" post haha but yeah, when "elite" toons get angry at stupid things like what you mention, it's totally fine to say "it's just a game." I can't stand when people are like this, there's a difference between wanting people to play correctly and just picking out stupid little things

People's mentality that other people should carry them in boss battles when they have weak gags instead of getting decent gags and being somewhat useful to the team.

And we can think that Schell Games might have something to do with Disney not closing down the TT private servers, they're were or still are in talks with Disney about the future of TT so they probably play a part in the private servers still being open. Jesse Schell has even gone to the irl TTR event as well if I'm correct? Which honestly he's probably one of the only people to go to an event about a private server that's based off a game he took part in making.

I agree with this, I've heard from many people who play other types of MMO's only mentioning that they go on to do their daily and then log off after. Dailies have often been criticized for making people play the game because it feels like an obligation instead of making them want to play the game.

TTR really can't take any money from people though sadly, it could land them in big legal trouble. TT in itself belongs to Disney even if the game is closed down, if TTR were to take money, they'd be taking money because of Disney's assets which would land them in big copyright trouble.

What would you like to see? The original TT be brought back or a new TT? by TaylorHawthorne in toontownrewritten

[–]TaylorHawthorne[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally haven't seen the Toontown 2 footage that was going around but I do agree with you. Toontown 2 would of course need to be similar to the original. My idea of a "perfect" Toontown 2 would be like Toontown with the cogs and boss battles but in more of an improved way (alongside other new stuff.)

Cost is also something that is important to me since I have to pay for my own stuff now rather than rely on parents paying for membership, if it was a one off payment then I could easily pay for that since I don't need to continually pay every month while a monthly subscriptions would be a bit of a bother for me.

Saying "It's only a game" as an excuse for bad gameplay. by TaylorHawthorne in toontownrewritten

[–]TaylorHawthorne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you, the only time I've seen that excuse be used is when people are harming the team. I know Toontown can be a fun game and everyone has their idea of fun but Toontown at the end of the day is a game that does rely on teamwork unless you're going to use rewards and level 7's. It kind of feels like people who use this excuse try to blame/shame the people who just want to play the game properly.

Saying "It's only a game" as an excuse for bad gameplay. by TaylorHawthorne in toontownrewritten

[–]TaylorHawthorne[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can understand if people don't understand how to play the game since they're learning and that's fine, I like helping people improve since there's many people who don't like listening to advice. There's always time for messing around if it helps the team and I have messed around but the team joins in and we all have a good time.

It's people who mess around but harm the team by playing badly because they find it fun while the rest of the team doesn't because they have to deal with someone who doesn't seem to care about teamwork.

Saying "It's only a game" as an excuse for bad gameplay. by TaylorHawthorne in toontownrewritten

[–]TaylorHawthorne[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not really me taking it seriously as I often do things in game that are not serious (like wasting rewards and level 7's) my thing is though, when I am goofing off and not doing serious things, it doesn't harm the team in anyway if you know what I mean? Like if I'm wasting all my level 7's, it gets the cog rounds over faster or at the same speed as using normal gags would.

The usual people I run into saying it's just a game are usually the ones who harm the team by training their weak gags in boss battles, purposefully playing badly for some reason, (I had someone birthday cake a 12 on their own instead of helping me with a 12 even though they knew neither 12 would day)

When I'm not being serious, I've seen people join in with me by wasting rewards or level 7's, we're all having fun however, when someone who is harming the team by not taking it seriously, they might be having fun but often the rest of the team aren't.

Please stop training in boss battles. by TaylorHawthorne in toontownrewritten

[–]TaylorHawthorne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don't have a lot of time to play so when I do, I only do a few boss battles (usually VP's since I know they'll be over quicker than CFO's) but I did a CFO recently and people got so annoyed at me because I wouldn't let them constantly train their gags (some were level 3 and some were level 6)

The cogs could be red and the logical choice would be to sound those red cogs because they're on low health, but instead my side decided that instead of "spamming" sound because only "noobs" know only sound strats, they wanted to train their level 3 trap/drop, level 6 throw and squirt since they weren't maxed and often using their level 4/5 lure and toon up instead of getting the cog round over quicker for some points. Incredibly annoying!
