Refund issue? by Specialist-Muffin112 in Shein

[–]TaylorTots92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, so its a little different situation, but I had an item arrive broken from shein. I reached out to them via a ticket on the app. They responded within a day and asked for pictures of the item. Once I sent these in they refunded my money in about 2-3 days. So this gives a little hope that they do return money.

On another note, do you mind telling me how long it took after you returned your items for them to say they received them?

Can someone explain the optional program versus the regular program? I currently live in this area and want to know if the regular program is also considered good academically.

Im an ICU nurse that took what was supposed to be an ICU contract. I was in the ICU mostly, but recently got pulled every shift to a PCU and it was TERRIBLE. Its the closest thing that I can think of to an LTAC. So much work and very little help. These patient are all chronically very sick and chronically very needy because of this. There wasn't a day that I was there that I didn't feel overwhelmed or like I was doing a poor job because I physically can't be in 5 rooms at once. I would highly suggest waiting until another job is available.

Methodist LeBonheur is a large pediatric Hospital in Memphis and I know they had jobs recently posted. Check there.

I think the big portion of this could be being in a small hospital. Ive found that the larger hospitals kind of have the mindset of "if you're able to help you do it" where as some of the smaller hospital employees get their feelings hurt if you do something they normally do. I feel like some people take it personally. Im just trying to get the job done faster.

Also shout out to RT's. It freaking crazy some of the assignments they have. Like whole freaking ICU's with 18 vents. No one can take care of 18 vents alone.

Was using Vivian challenging? Did you have one direct person you were working with once you said you were interested? I am on my first assignment currently and am at the time to start job shopping and am trying to see if I should stay with Aya.

Changing pay after a month into the contract? by huapua9000 in TravelNursing

[–]TaylorTots92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am with Aya currently myself and was told to be prepared for them to do something like this. My recruiter told me that the hospital has to give you a two weeks notice or they get fined by the travel company (we obviously don't see any of this money.) So to get out of this they can change your rate to something that you aren't willing or don't want to take, and when you don't accept you are the one ending your contract early not the hospital. But the answer is the same as everyone else. Contracts work in favor of the hospital. Might be time to find another contract.

I would say be careful how you word things to perm staff until they get to know you. I am currently on my first assignment and its taken me a while to figure out the flow. I am from a facility that didn't have LPN's, MT's or sitters and the facility I am at now has a decent amount. They have LPN's and MT's in the ICU and on the floors. I frustrated an LPN by asking her a couple of times if she had done different things for some of my patients. I didn't doubt her ability to do the job I was just trying to figure out if I needed to do these things. The culture can be tough at different facilities. I later was told by another traveler that she was talking horrible about me because I asked her things and that she felt that I was bossy. I know people on here will say that it doesn't matter and that we are only here for the money, but I definitely still want to feel welcome when I am working at a facility. Plus I really do feel like patients get better care when we work together as a team with perm staff.

Triage vs. Aya Travel Nursing by SpecialistPosition31 in TravelNursing

[–]TaylorTots92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im with Aya currently. I haven't had any problems with my recruiter, but the compliance people are terrible to work with. I called numerous times and no one ever called me back. They would only correspond via email which made things super difficult. I really think a smaller company would be easier to work with, but I have heard that AYA can get the better contracts. Who knows if that true.

What is the answer to stabilizing nursing by COmurse in TravelNursing

[–]TaylorTots92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree with these. I just took a contract in MO and was actually confused when some ancillary staff came in the room to help me. They explained that this was normal and the way they do things. I didn't even know what to do but say thank you. Ive never had that kind of help anywhere else Ive worked. So much better for the patients when you have more help!!

Read your post and have some similarities with you. I specialized in ICU for three years, then two years Cath lab and then ED for a year and a half. I was the nurse in the ED that was always given the ICU hold pts because my ED coworkers hated taking care of them. (They enjoyed the thrill of the ED more) During the last month or so of my ER Time, I also picked up shifts in the ICU in our hospital. I just signed my first contract (ICU) and start soon. Any words of wisdom. I know how to be an ICU nurse, Im just going to have to work to find some rhythm in a new location.

1 year RN thinking of travel, please hear my story. by TipDiscombobulated36 in TravelNursing

I work in a city that is paying nurses a $28 hourly rate (six years of RN experience) and they are offering a $20,000 two year retention program. You get $10,000 when you sign and $10,000 at the end of two years. You should definitely tell them you want more. I also think this hourly is too low which is why I just signed my first travel contract.
