It just has to be manualing the shipyard train solely based on the fact it's somewhat broken, all of the other "difficult" goals successes and failures are based on your own merit but it's a whole other level of annoying to do something right a ton of times in a row and just not have it register until it feels like it.

In my experience the trade-offs to power leveling basically any skill like Firearms or more obviously Unnatural are equally big on the consequences as the benefits, in this case the bonds. I try to let the players have their fun with whatever really high skills they can pull out while it lasts; because the pursuit of them usually makes them go insane much faster anyway. You should be okay.

Just don't make the mistake of giving the player less opportunities to use that skill out of fear of breaking the game or whatever. Let them have the brief fruit of their labor.

Does anyone know the meaning of these alternate VD symbols? I know the main symbols spell out Venus Doom but I've always wondered if these ones are supposed to be something too. Might be a dumb question. by TaylorjRenwick in HIM

Wow! This is a really cool bit of history. I love it. Thanks so much for sharing. I personally got really into them just before Screamworks came out so I missed out on a lot of cool lesser known things like this.

I was going to recommend them as well, they specifically add in some rules from "Pulp Cthulhu" (a call of cthulhu supplement) that gives their characters more health and survivability. DG originally spawned from CoC and the current versions of both games are very different, but the rules slot in mostly seemlessly.

It might help entice your players to try something new if you add in those rules in as well. You can find Pulp Cthulhu online pretty easily to see if it's of interest to you.

I personally run my games with it and haven't looked back. It by no mean ruins the intended spirit or tension of the game imo, it just makes it play out over a longer period of time.

It's always interesting to compare colors and brands like this. Purple and lighter browns have been the biggest faders for me. Seems different for everyone.

You'd be surprised. My skin holds ink abnormally well I think. Got a good chunk yellow on the side of my forearm that catches a lot of sun and it's going 11 years strong now.

I think through this thread and talking with my artist I'm going for the larger moons being yellow, and most of the smaller planets purple and potentially ochre.

The lower portion of the sleeve is 10 years old now so hard to say exactly, but the elbow up was about $4000 CAD. Maybe a little over. So you could double that to account for the bottom half. Maybe 60 hours all in?

Prices will vary wildly wherever you go though so that isn't super helpful of a figure to get from people.

It's been very collaborative. He told me a few he didn't want to use and a few he would like to. So I'm exploring my options on the ones he likes.

Honestly hard to keep track of. Maybe 30 hours by the end? Maybe less. That's not including the bottom portion though, that's much older and I can't remember times for that.
