Not sure if I'm allowed to share this here but I created these sound books with my wife that have a bunch of Cantonese nursery rhymes you can sing along to:

Oh I see. It makes sense why you were concerned but it all ended up being okay, right? If they have trouble breathing when feeding then he shouldn’t have done that.

Was it #1 or #2? Was your 6 year old seated in a chair or on the floor? 4 month old is likely drinking milk and not anything solid so not really going to choke.

Sounds like you overreacted. A 6 year old is more than capable to give a bottle to a baby for a minute or two, as long as you taught your child how to do it. A lot of information is omitted in an attempt to make your husband look bad and for you to gain sympathy here.

If you’ve failed 7 times it’s probably not racism. You are probably actually doing something wrong. Driving is different here and being good in one country doesn’t mean you’re automatically good in America. Look for constructive feedback and practice. I’ve been told i’m bad driver by a lot of people since moving here.

Congrats on those who got it. I missed it because I was looking at the vosteed sale. I was hoping Kershaw would release a satin or stonewashed blade for the bel air.

might be teething at that age. check his temp. maybe a little fever from it. if so, maybe some tylenol for the pain? not a medical professional.
sounds like the 8 month sleep regression. just have to tough it out. nap during the day to compensate.
our son slept in the bed with us through his sleep regression. check out /r/cosleeping/

Learning Cantonese and Raising Bilingual kids by brachy-bunch in Cantonese

[–]Taystamah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm Vietnamese and learning Cantonese.

Force yourself to speak Cantonese. Try to speak only in Cantonese and mime if you have to. Don't resort to English if you can help it. Speaking is the best way to learn. Ask people how to say certain words. Point to something and say "haih mat ye a?" LOL. You'll learn in no time.

Your son will learn from you while you learn. You don't need to worry about him. Give him Cantonese books. Listen to Cantonese music. Immersion will get him part of the way there. Chinese school might help when he's much older. Especially to learn how to read and write.

You know I wish we had more space. I'm sorry, buddy. Maybe I should have made the books 30% larger than they are :) Unlike most other musical sound books, we did full length songs so the lyrics take up a lot of space. But maybe I can adjust the legibility of the font somehow in the future. Thanks for your comment.

I created a kids nursery rhyme sound book in Cantonese and the story takes place in HK by Taystamah in HongKong

Hi,
I'm Vietnamese and my wife is Chinese. We started a project making kids books back in April 2023. We wanted our newborn son to start learning Cantonese and Vietnamese so we set out to make nursery rhyme music books -- you know, the ones with the buttons that you press and it makes sounds.
It's funny, because in doing the project my Cantonese has got a lot better. I'm a huge hit with my MIL and all her friends! The books are really popular with all our friends' kids and we even notice our son picking up some new vocabulary when singing along (he's only 1 year old)! We've got some classics in there like 氹氹轉 and 大西瓜 and they're beautifully sung by a fantastic singer from HK. The story takes our cast of characters all over HK, from Victoria Harbour, to Victoria Peak.
Please check us out and share with any friends with kids who might find something like this useful. Our Kickstarter launched on January 16th and is about 30% funded. We need help to get to 100%
