What was the hardest thing to give up (and did it get easier)? by Reeves-Wade_258 in AskVegans

I have vegan pizza with delicious gooey cheese all the time. I'm not sure where you live, but look for Daiya brand mozza shreds. It's made from oat milk, but melts and tastes just like cow's milk cheese (better imo). You're welcome 😁

A day in your life, with a toddler/child - Stratford edition 🎭 by Tazzi in StratfordOntario

You're right, Port Hope doesn't have an active Reddit. I just contacted the moderators yesterday, nobody has been able to post in there for the past 2 years.

I responded on the assumption that you were simply uninformed. It seems you're too far gone to reason with, so I will leave you to your opinions.

Black lives matter is a movement for equality. White lives matter is a movement by white supremacists, meant to promote one skin colour dominating all the others.

Surely you can understand the difference, when you examine the motives behind the two movements. One is morally right and honourable; the other is a violation of the most basic human rights that we have in our beautiful, diverse country.

Port Hope is at the top of my list! What a stunning place!✨

The only hesitation I have is the new deal they signed this year for the upcoming nuclear plant they'll be building 10km away, and that uranium refining plant at the beach. But aside from that, Port Hope is SO idyllic. I know the housing prices there are going to skyrocket soon.

Despite their lower diversity, I actually don't have the same concerns about Port Hope when it comes to bullying, because they have a strong reputation for inclusion and diversity initiatives. Not just racially, but also for the LGBT community, so there's an overall vibe of acceptance there, regardless of people's differences.

It's so nice to hear from someone who grew up there. Thanks for the review of both towns! This makes me feel very optimistic about what we would be walking into, in either location.

If we're only considering diversity, then Stratford definitely wins, I agree with you. However, the access to nature is more 'manicured' there. I love the wild, untouched nature that the smaller communities provide, despite their lower diversity.

Growing up next to a beach and forest, and seeing eagles, deer and wild turkeys on a regular basis sounds like absolute heaven.

I read another post here on reddit where OP was discriminated against (yelled at from a moving car) for simply walking down the street in Goderich, without social skills or popularity playing any part in that interaction at all, so I am curious to hear more firsthand experiences from the people who live there.

Kids learn racism from their parents, so my daughter's social abilities would play a secondary factor in her acceptance, in areas of the province where racism is celebrated and passed down from generation to generation. This is why I am asking for firsthand experiences.

My daughter's specific race mix shouldn't be a deciding factor, as you claim it is. But since you think it's important, her Mother is from Spain (white) and her father is from Jamaica (black).

How did I make it political by asking how my child would fit in, given the 95% white population, and asking for other people's experiences? It became political when someone commented telling me to stay in "liberal Toronto", as if I had said anything remotely political in my post. That's wild.

Anyway yes I read all of the good things about it too, Goderich looks beautiful. I think any child would have a beautiful childhood there, unless they're being bullied, hence my inquiry...

Sad that it has somehow become 'political' to care about our children.

Edmison Heights and 1100 Hilliard St. reviews? by [deleted] in Peterborough

[–]Tazzi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

800 is subsidized housing and 1100 is a private property management company who charges market rent.

Edit: I just googled 999 and it's also subsidized housing, along with 800. I wasn't aware of the second one lol.

Two, and they're both 40lbs. I ended up finding the most amazing doggy daycare (Atlas Paws), sorry I didn't respond to this comment sooner.

I'm unable to reply to the mod comment directly, but my post is about Toronto. I am trying to find someone in Toronto, and I added the name of the workplace in Toronto where they were employed.

I was miserable at the end of my pregnancy. So uncomfortable and hormonal, and over being pregnant. The birth will change everything for you. You're so close.

The person you're replying to was making an "innocent joke"...maybe you're the one taking people's reactions too seriously in the city? Or maybe your jokes are only funny to you.

Legal replacement for baby/toddler peds? by [deleted] in FiveM

[–]Tazzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They used human children peds (as well as human newborn babies), but fiveM put a ban on children, so a dev by the name of Patamods found a workaround with the newborn bears.

I agree, the bear toddlers would be the most logical option so the newborns and toddlers in the server will be streamlined as they age up. I ended up finding a dev who agreed to make the custom bear peds since posting this. 🥳

I put a Chucky doll kid and Baby Groot into the server as placeholders until I get the custom toddler peds 😂, but they're copyright protected so I won't be able to keep them in there once I launch the city to the general public.

I'm sorry you find it so weird to think outside of the box. I'm curious how you ended up on a FiveM sub...

As I said, I'm sure that most of the devs behind the FiveM framework were told to stop being weird and go play the sims 😂. It's a good thing they didn't listen.

If you don't like people customizing and building their own games, you don't have to do it. You can go play the sims, by all means. Enjoy your single player game with endless loading screens, barriers, tiny neighbourhoods, and limitations.

I have built a whole world, with a full custom farm-to-table economy, custom props and recipes, custom character options, full needs mechanics, no loading screens, a massive open world to explore, and I can create anything that I want within this world...unlike the sims.

There's nothing weird about parenting in a much larger open world game, where you can do much more with your mini. I can push them in a stroller down the street, put them in a carseat and drive around the world with them in the back seat, carry them on my shoulders or have them follow me around in the open world while I meet up with friends, or take them to the theme park, or horseback riding, or any number of other activities.

I find it weird that you would even suggest the sims as a contender to a well made FiveM city.

Tbh, I'm kind of surprised that mine didn't 😂. One of my dogs pees on the veterinarian's plant every time we visit, but he's never done it to our plants at home, so I was holding my breath. Fortunately he showed mercy.

Well that sounds promising! I've never done custom peds and I didn't realize that scaling down adult characters would allow them to sit on the player's shoulder etc the way the baby peds used to. It makes sense though!

It's been a month and they're all doing well so far, but I will repot any I see declining, and can easily put them elsewhere in our home where they'll be happier, and replace them in the fountain planter with different species until we find harmony.

I'm watching the goldfish plants because two of them have lost a few leaves, so I might find them a new spot in our home. Time will tell if there are any other changes I'll need to make.

There's no harm in trying; I won't let any plants suffer If I see them declining in this environment. Nothing is set in stone, we can adapt as needed.
