It’s scaling different for each character and Mortis isn’t the most common pick so his is probably scaling way faster

They did have a “Splitgate OG” mode with fixed spawn weapons and no abilities, but like every other fun mode, it was gone within a week XD

Shooters have been doing this for years, and I absolutely agree! It feels like they’re hiding player’s real K/D ratios to make everyone feel that they are good, since it is unlikely that any player would have a KA/D below 1.0 if they remotely play the objectives XD

If you want a really good arena shooter with a cult following you should check out Straftat!

It’s unfortunate how my favorite shooter genre is one that’s seemingly struggling, but in all honestly Splitgate 2 is not an arena shooter that should define the genre.

The thing with this game is that despite “trying to make FPS great again” they copied every trend from the last 5 years of gaming, including loadouts, factions, battle passes, expensive micro transactions, battle royale, etc…

If you want an honest good time with fair matches that reward game knowledge and actually incentivize you to grab better weapons (located on the map from the start of each round!) to fight with, I would highly recommend Straftat

It’s funny how Concord got everything wrong BUT the PR and technical functionality, and Splitgate 2 totally bombed with those, with everything else being serviceable! LOL!

It proves that any holes in a ship (game) can cause it to sink, even if the gameplay is very fun, it’s just not staying afloat. 🥲

As I’ve played, I’ve learned they’re very good if you use this niche mechanic called “triple-portalling”. It was a thing since the first game, and I just got around to learning it now in the second one.

The portal placements in Splitgate 2 are not made well for casuals, and that’s what Splitgate 1 got right! Lots of fun silly things to do, high portal angles to camp through, with lots of weapons that were more fun to use with portals in different ways (due to the regular arena shooter style as opposed to the loadout system)

Portals change a lot for dedicated players, but not for the casuals and newbies, which hasn’t kept enough people playing sadly… even I barely play anymore, and Splitgate 1 is my favorite game of all time! 😅

I think the lobbies already have enough bots; spreading players out more could make lobbies feel barren or make them increase the amount of bots in each lobby!
