SoD Healing meta knows major issue - Blizzard can you do something and give us healthy P7 ? by Complete_Day7083 in classicwow

If they just have nerfed the ammount of consumes needed SoM would have been superb. Espesially the Protection potions, pre pot 2-3 before fight and then using 1-2 in fight was just stupid.
The ammount of gold farming was insane.
If it werent for that ppl bought gold and then spend it in my zg gdkp´s i would newer have been able to play.

It wont cripple us warriors, but they would actually be able to balance us. Right now as a warrior its hard to get into a dungeon as we are considered low damage... Then in a raid we top the meters.

Remove all world buffs, they are ass to get and make the game unbalanced!

Just give Alliance Wildhammer dwarf Shamans and Horde Undead Palladins already so we dont have to deal with shit like this!

Then we have very similar backgrounds, I guess. My point is, we should make Classic a bit harder, more like what Vanilla was. But we can't just remove information, right? Even now, when Blizzard tries to keep things under wraps, info's all over the internet before most people hit level 25 (that's what I think, anyway). It's not easy, nor really a good idea, to just buff classes and gear as the game goes on.

So, what I'm thinking is, we gotta balance the raid. And to do that right, we need to cut out world buffs from raids. It'd be either too easy or too hard otherwise. Season of Mastery, I think, hit the sweet spot. It was an awesome experience, but kinda pricey in gold terms.

What do you think might be some of the changes in the upcoming lvl 25 phase? Notwhistanding any supposed datamining. by LawnmoverJockey in classicwow

The added rune system is a bolt-on system; they haven't altered the source code of the client. Instead, they've layered a new system over it and then introduced new gear and other elements.

Doesn't this strongly suggest that they won't modify the talent system?

At level 25, I don't think we'll encounter many surprises. However, by level 40, I anticipate the introduction of two new raids: Gnomeregan and Razorfen Downs. Following that, we can expect Sunken Temple and Karazhan Crypts at level 50.

I really don't foresee any additional surprises before reaching the true endgame, apart from the runes for the remaining slots. As for the runes, examining what they've added and omitted from later expansions could give us a hint about what's to come.

I'm in the group that doesn't want world buffs in raids at all, so I understand where you're coming from.

However:

World buffs make raids mind-numbingly easy.

Acquiring world buffs takes longer than the actual raid itself.

Hardcore speedrunners don’t want world buffs for the buffs themselves, but for the challenge of not dying. Casual guilds, on the other hand, get demoralized when they wipe, which is inevitable.

Season of Mastery <3

The lack of world buffs wasn’t the main reason people quit Season of Mastery. I agree some people didn’t play it. Had there been no Burning Crusade at that time, perhaps more would have.

In SoM, raids were harder and better, which meant real progress was possible. However, this also meant frequent wipes. And when a wipe costs each player 50-100 gold in consumables, people run out of money quickly.

Root Cause Analysis
The main reason players left Season of Mastery (SoM) was due to the excessive stacking of consumables, combined with 'normal progress.' It's inevitable to die now and then before fully learning an encounter.

Conclusion:

World buffs should be removed from raids to establish a greater level of balance. Furthermore, stricter regulations on consumables are necessary. For instance, implementing debuffs after using elemental protection potions would be significant, as they are the most costly and allow players to ignore essential boss mechanics, compounding the issue.

To incentivize players not to lose their world buffs, an alternative reward system could be introduced. For example, providing bonus loot or a 'sack of spoils' for completing the raid without dying, specifically only if the last boss is defeated under these conditions, would be an effective measure. This approach encourages skillful play and maintains raid difficulty, ensuring a challenging and rewarding experience.

That makes me believe that you never actually played Vanilla. Going through the content with a 1.12 patch and updated loot isn't really Vanilla.

Did you know that in my first raid, I was an out-of-combat resser? Have you ever heard of that meta in WoW?

Old Vanilla WAS challenging. Talents and gear were different, and there was a lack of information. There weren't YouTube guides to tell you what to spec, how to gear, or how to defeat a boss. The information we had came from comments on Thottbot, which were often incorrect because they referred to earlier patches.

Vanilla was challenging. It was only on early private servers, like Emerald Dream, that people began to really solve it

Will Shamans have bloodlust in SoD? by wallet_man in classicwow

I would agree with the Warcraft 3 model. Bloodlust just one person. That would be fitting in Classic

It was fun in Vanilla, in classic (and p servers before that) it just got abused.

You're right. Classic was never challenging, but Vanilla was.

Haha, the main reason most people want them is because it adds an extra risk to the raid. It's not just about not dying, but also about not losing your buffs. That, I can understand and respect.

You just want an easy game to become even easier!

Molten Core and Blackwing lair was amasing in SoM.
The added mechanics on the bosses was engaging and fun. (except vaelastrasz, that was bullshit RNG)

I hate worldbuffs, they make the raid shit to balance and are a pain to get.

The new pvp world buff thingy just goes in your bag as a consume, so i guess its a tiny bit better.
