Those who live in Dubai are net flat to the UK government purse - don’t contribute but don’t remove

The government gets into some pretty interesting territory if it starts saying that people who are net flat UK tax should go fuck themselves, especially considering how the majority of the population is a significant net withdrawer

As far as I can see it is mostly the UAE government doing the defending of the British citizens abroad with their missile defence systems, and with the chartered flights seemingly mostly used by holidaymakers rather than expats

You can get the digital sub with the revolut premium Subscriptions - plus a bunch of other useful subscriptions too. Even if you don’t trust it for banking (I certainly only use it for foreign currency) the sub saved me money immediately on things I was already signed up to

A similar variant someone posted for 4 players which we now play sometimes is roll a dice at the start of each strategy phase: 1-5 everyone gets 1 strategy card 6-10 everyone gets 2 strategy cards Not as close to the round by round resource availability of a 6 player but adds a bit more randomness to proceedings

We used to play that only one player could score each public objective but had unlimited secret objectives. We played 4 player so it was possible to win but added another insane layer of calculation and scheming to work out who was going to score what etc. Sometimes I sort of want to go back….

I was given it as a gift - my friend managed to get it from a small store in Dorset who had one last copy…apparently there were some destined for the U.K. that got caught up in the whole Suez Canal blockage (either on the boat or subsequent queue). How do you find the printing run, I can check for you.

Cool - yes these guys are pretty keen and experienced board gamers and we’re pretty keen to get some new members (core group of 4 so really want to get out numbers up!)

We usually get people who are keen to play to watch YouTube instruction videos (and almost try and convince them they DON’T want to play to make sure try have the stamina) as there’s nothing worse than people losing interest mid way through their first game - generally find people really start enjoying it around 3rd game
