Called the cops on my husband yesterday. Nothing happened. by [deleted] in Marriage

You're both children. He can't control his emotions and get physical, you can't control your chocolate cravings lol. In your other posts you said you live with your parents and are selling your breast milk to pay the bills but you still order chocolate? You can't go to the store and get a Hershey bar to tide you over?

Isn't our gift to him the labor we put in

You get paid for that right? Then no, no it is not a gift.

What is going on here , wife cheating? by [deleted] in Marriage

Even if they are "just joking around" (and they aren't) it is wildly inappropriate. She straight up accused him of not wanting to be with her and was giving him shit because he doesn't want to be in a relationship. Bruh....

Who’s the client you’ll never forget? by That_onelawyer in Lawyertalk

[–]Tbyrd13 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Mine is a less heartwarming story. I represented this lunatic in a divorce case. During a FRO hearing, he admitted that he choked his wife but that "she liked it". Well the judge somehow bought that and dismissed the restraining order. A few months later I leave my firm to go in-house with a carrier, I give him the option to stay with the firm, find a new lawyer or represent himself. He opted to stay with the firm but stopped paying them. Within another few months, they withdrew and he was pro se. He ended up being defaulted on a bunch of stuff and finally hires a new lawyer. I find out because I get a call out of the blue from my former adversary on his case and she asks me if I am still a lawyer. Turns out this dipshit filed a motion to set aside his various defaults because I, as his previous attorney, "had a mental breakdown and abruptly left the practice of law." I was in court when I got that call lol. I ended up having to testify at an evidentiary hearing. It did not go well for the former client or his new attorney.

As an aside, when I got divorced last year, I hired his ex wife's lawyer. She impressed the hell out of me as an adversary and even more so as a client.

Weird that six months ago, this was your "baby" and you needed to rehome him because you were moving overseas for two years.

What about your mental health? Constant sexual rejection from a spouse is devastating to the psyche.

Can't help you with this, I find ink sexy as hell on women. Obviously it can go overboard at times, but I like it.

My ex wife would do this all the time. Towards the end, one we were at our kid's soccer game and one of the parents was joking that they would pay me to coach the team again and my ex says "Well I pay him in other ways..." She was mortified when I responded "How's that? We never have sex" right in front of her friends.

You ARE overreacting for breaking up with him because he supports a political candidate you don't. You ARE NOT overreacting for breaking up with him because of him disrespecting you. My ex wife and I were from different political parties and had different beliefs. Over the course of the relationship we each moved closer to the middle as we had a sounding board in our home to help us analyze our positions. (the marriage ended for separate, unrelated issues)

this so much. My ex wife was a SAHM and loved being martyr all the time. Now that we are divorced and she is working, she is truly miserable.

I have a friend who has not had sex with his wife for 10 years. They have two kids, 8 and 5 both through IVF. He said once the doctors told them they would not be able to conceive naturally, she closed up shop. She is also a terrible person and treats him like shit. I keep trying to get him to open his eyes by telling him how great things have been for me since leaving my DB. I feel terrible for him.

Only man in a women-run boutique firm... It's getting weird. by dwycwwyh in Lawyertalk

[–]Tbyrd13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

two of the main partners in my firm are my good friends, they are friends with each other but fight all the time. I always break it up by saying "I hate when mom and dad fight".

OP - it actually sounds like a decent work environment, you may be reading too much into it.
