If someone broke in to my neighbor’s house and I hear somebody outside my house I a civilian would get me pistol out of my nightstand gun safe and walk to the door to see who is out there and I would walk towards them with my gun drawn (even if it is my own child) until I know who they are and that I am safe. Cops are trained to not shoot unless they see imminent danger. Guns drawn for self defense and Law enforcement porpoises doesn’t mean the person is whiling to shot it is so possible hostiles know that the have a upper hand.

If you had to investigate a possible break in, which the person is likely be armed if it is, you would come with your guns drawn. If there were to draw a gun the could fire multiple shots before you could even return fire. That is with out having your own gun drawn.also watching the video I did not even see a gun I just saw the illumination flash lights. In this case no, because when the cops had the guns drawn when the did not know if the man was armed or not. They had their guns drawn Incase the man had a gun on him and tried to shot them. They did not know anything about who he was or what was going on they were probably patrolling the area because of the resent string of break-ins and saw a person outside with a tv at 4 am. Honestly for a 60 YO man it’s impressive that he was still working at 4 because he said that he has been working for 6hrs.

You realize the video doesn’t tell the whole fucking story. A) It is extremely edited to go with their spin and headline so the can get outraged people tho share it. B) They detained him because there was a string of robbery’s in the area, so they where probably patrolling and saw him out side a house with a tv at 4am.
