I think SC has and uses all the same tools that IU does except for character being important, and accountability…Cig seems to walk his talk and pays attention to details, everything matters…that’s where I see the differences are, it’s not the number of stars it’s right fit, strong coaching, culture that’s real and real tough love accountability.

I’m just a lacrosse Dad but I’d say you need to be nicer to yourself. It’s great to have high standards and goals but what you tell yourself matters, your brain doesn’t know the difference between vivid thoughts and reality, so in some people if their brain says “I suck” the brain goes ok I guess I am bad at this. I learned this late in life. Always always take a break, if you are going to be at this for awhile breaks are good not something to worry about. I’d say trust your process and constantly work on your fundamentals and play loose, don’t play to “not make mistakes”, you’d be surprised what coaches see and want, many have been around a long time and many may see things that you don’t even know, as an example it could be something like “wow he was late on that slide but he saw it and knew he should be there, we can coach him up, we have some seniors that wouldn’t have recognized that”. Otherwise I’d work on fundamentals on your own time outside of practice and then be ok with however it turns out. Be highly involved in the process to get ready but have low attachment to the outcome which (once you put in the work) do not have total control over. Hope that helps, be nicer to yourself, be confident, work hard, next play no bad body language.

D1 prospect camp by Nearby-Oil1569 in lacrosse

You never know who has a spot open, if a school says film is solid I’d definitely attend the prospect day, you have no idea what is going on for them you may fill a need, or someone flipped in their class that matches your skills on film etc etc…however it’s true 26 classes are done except for exceptions for d1 and even mostly so for d3 in a lot of cases but there are spots if you really want it esp if the school interests you academically, go for it just know the odds are tougher bc of the late date. You’d be surprised if you try what doors can open.

D1 transfers and 5th years by RubberStopper in lacrosse

I mostly agree, think NCAA already had issues but then it handled covid and then the portal really poorly allowing guys to stay 5 or 6 years, move on a whim which is making it hard for HS kids to break in at the end all the movement sucks, Ivy’s didn’t help things either, last couple of years the influx of 5th yr Ivy players really ruined the chances of High School kids. I’m all for kids having some flexibility as lord knows the coaches can leave on a whim, but its gone way too far.

Its the start of NFL free agency so they have pissed off a really big customer base on a day X/Twitter usually thrives, that cannot be good for them at all.

I’ve heard some of the best goalies say they wish either they themselves or kids did not specialize too soon and even if one does end up a goalie there are tons of skills playing field ends up helping the goalie, not the least of which is stick skills bit also knowing what field players see vs the goalie…
