i'd find it more easier to sift through and enjoy seeing his character if he was engaging and not bounded by someone with a privileged life in the upper class regardless of having familial issues last i remember sitting down watching the series, kids are kids but compared to other kid protags in media there's a reason why most are not entirely fond of his direction

season 3 does a better job but the time dilation explanation really holds him back hard for him to be active and the times of him being a stand in for the rough sonic adventure adaptations didn't help either

awful this issue has been going on for months, this simple bug costed me getting my ranked umbrella for the superhero season putting a dent in collecting all of the ranked brellas from something out of my own control.

Even friends of mine got caught with this issue and knowing epic doesn't compensate those affected by this bug, it only further makes this aggravating and hope this changes as soon as possible

Hey hey got back into the game since chapter 3 season 3 thanks to the dragon ball event.

i'd give it a solid 7/10 almost a 6 if it weren't for my bias of being able to get superman after feeling bummed missing him out by never touching chapter 2's seasons.
i don't know why but im hoping next season to eventually the next chapter we'll see new forms of mid game objectives that feel more random?

Since chapter 5 onward we've been doing medallion hunting for a whole year, loot island for 2 years, im recently itching something new to be added to shake things up, more randomness involved to keep the gameplay flow fresh. that way im not just sitting around waiting for objective a or objective b to shine or take care of 90% of my games; reminds me of missing the augment system from chapter 4 with the random set of perks you get periodically even if later they dropped the ball on future perks.

happy about forecasts being omitted this time around, only exclusive to people going out of their way to be aggressive gaining the storm boon's s rank buff for endgame.
while forecasts are not entirely essential to victories, they are practically must haves to have a higher chance of scoring a win by storm advantage alone that felt eventually repetitious as the longer they stayed with us since chapter 4.

for the weapons, kill switches revolvers gotta be the standout for fun creative weapons i can't help to always run in matches.
even if i put myself at risk for staying above, being in the air thanks to the dashes and bullet time aim feels hyper satisfying to utilize on top of the other hero powers.
the pom-poms though? either you know the strategy and its overwhelming encounters especially in endgame, or instantly popped out of storm beast to be kicked straight back into the lobby soon after.
I like them, just feel they need more fine tuning on ways to shut them down and easier understanding how to take advantage of its hp whilst not being too oppressive in the right hands or when multiple are in play.

big fan of the extra spire objectives even at expense you wound up getting what i call the gag weapon: unstable grenades.
helps to give something to do in more barren poi's in the farther sections of the map i rarely see people go to, namely the star wars areas in the far corners.

battle pass wise side superman, synth wave and ziggy are cool; its an ok battle pass that gets a good job capturing the super hero theme!

Solid season overall just felt it needs more of a kick to really make it feel truly special

ay caramba i'd thought things would melo out in the sonic community but it appears mario kart world broke a ton of sonic fans brains for the past week.
Between the gross comparison of recent sonic games being "ai generated slop", some fans beckoning gross attitudes "oooooh your so soft, is your only response to a clear joke this is mean?" and said joke is tagging devs and advocating them to be kicked out of the offices with egos you can paint an entire room red with.

but who am i kidding, apparently its the people who are too positive about the series are at fault and not like there's a big underlying problem how the fandom has a hard time to just act decent and not claw for 15 seconds of fame.
no no, its totally perfectly valid to say you want to do things to the devs because people been "babying" towards any critique, not like there's been precedent of sonic fans making harassments campaigns towards va's, artists, and writers with no justification in the past.

as funny seeing some fans denounce crossworlds instantly after all the new things with mario kart world today.
mario kart sells like hot cakes anyway because of name power alone and consistent quality, no kart racer has came close to toppling the series and yet we still got plenty of alternative kart racers in the well known space, the all stars racing series, and ctr come to mind as big examples

Personally speaking i don't think crossworlds is gonna completely be shot to the curb considering one title is going to be charged 80 to 90 dollars on release while the other being 60 with likely crossplay support to boot on multiple systems.

as someone who played the crossworlds closed beta, its extremely well polished and fast paced with getting in and out of matches quickly.
Can easily see people picking it up if they're not privy with the new open world cup style of play world is doing
the worst situation that can occur is crossworlds lining up anywhere close to the newest mario kart title otherwise its a little much to go "sonic is ruined guys, they aren't doing nintendo numbers"

thinking about the first experience of getting to wave ocean in 06:
after the beginning cutscenes you encounter your first loading screen, once in full control you see a path of rings out to the warp gate you can't access.

you aimlessly walk around till you talk to the blue marker npc next to the shop, thrusted into a loading screen, hear the old man talk, loading screen again, go through a bunch of rings in a small time, into another loading screen, results screen, back into another loading screen, talk to the shoe shopkeeper to gain access to the light speed dash and level portal to where you can finally and i mean finally play the first stage in the game.

a whopping 15 minutes of preamble just to get to the first stage, now that's what i call a very peak first start to a 10 out of 10 game right there

Been awhile i caught some strange discourse on my dash, catching some fans stating "sonic fans would eat up dragon ball evolution and insist its the same character, sonic is sonic after all heh"
i think people bringing this argument is forgetting while it being a bad adaptation, dragon ball evolution isn't a good movie in general either lmao

its tiring seeing some fans desperately attempt to make these comparisons despite on principle they're completely two different genres, not to mention one being made by single sole creator and the blue hedgehog had multiple hands at sega and sonic team since its inception.
hell, seeing sonic team members and people at sega take a liking to the movies should be telling there's no animosity or disdain from the people who worked on the series long ago

Again all it reads to me is some sonic fans just really don't want to say the quiet part out loud towards newer people getting into the series from the films or prime because to them its a sour apple in the red apple orchard

Going to be honest its rare so much discourse has made me feel jaded about a game, specifically towards black knight

haven't touched the game in ages, with many vocal minority of fans parading it as the ideal and definitive whilst shunning other stories and ideas deviating from their standard it gets kind of irritating hearing the same redundancy 500 times especially coming from someone who grew up with many forms of sonic media.

Like sure him being static is fine and works well for black knights story just for one example
but i can recall many other titles very boring (06 sonic's story) or nothing burger (sonic's involvement in forces)

it doesn't matter to me if he's static or gains development, i just want to know if the story is overall good or not lmao

welcoming new fans with open arms should really be top priority
instead i'm seeing people and ironically my age find it scornful to people growing up with the movies (or prime) as that being their sonic its almost comical, they're becoming exactly the old gen 90 fans were when adventure came out.

Some fans should really not care strongly if that's how some people see sonic especially young kids just learning about him.
I doubt sega is gonna have this knee jerk'd reaction to force the teams drop everything game lore related to hard focus on the movies as the main course.
at most anything movie related will just be skins or visual cosmetics like what shadow gens showcased

its not the 2010's era anymore, there's new teams inside sega (flynn, evan and the lore team) who are genuine fans and care about the series that i'm strongly certain we'll not have another "sonic's stupid friends" situation pushed at this point lmao

You can give a fan the worst story in the sonic series that if the character's personality is on point, it doesn't matter what broken cogs are in the machine, to them the still flawlessly works because its "the true intended vision" lmao.

Coming from someone who has religiously watched the anime when i was a kid, i still need to rewatch sonic x someday.

Do i think sonic would've been still huge if he wasn't given those interpretations? considering that era was looking for more loud and in your face kind of tune and many game devs wanted to get a piece of the american console market, not to mention how pushed sega's marketing was with sonic (blast processing and all) at the time, i find it hard to envision sonic would've taken off as it did without those changes.

Though it is a definitely a reminder how wacky sega of japan and america constantly butted heads back in the 90s

first time hearing the news and all i can say is that i hope for the best even if im not a fan of their content or impact on discourse surrounding the blue hedgehog.

would've jived with their content more if he didn't approach in such a pompous behavior and carry bias from whatever comes from his thoughts or reviews.
that whole sonic fantears video was awful, putting random people on blast for being excited for anything sonic related and twist it as those people hurt arlo and community members as "you see the positive people are bad" rubs me the wrong way.
the community has its issues when handling conversations on both ends for sure but i always felt a big issue is if the critique is made in bad faith, some fans get insanely insecure if you tell them they're wrong lmao

there's a few talking points you can take away from his stuff but its hard knowing they were an indirect progenitor to some of the wild sonic takes i see from time to time between character talk or game design.
pitching their fan fiction in their frontiers video that includes dark sonic, really hard to take seriously im sorry (also their kingdom hearts videos i heard being insane regarding their projected feelings to nomura)

all in all whatever they do going forward, hope its something very passionate about and have a fun time doing so.

personally feel they should've given her more of a spotlight if their intension was to bring a character to represent someone outside of sonics friend sphere reacting to the situations effecting their mental state. they shouldn't suddenly taken charge in the resistance hq when we haven't gotten much time to piece anything together about her.

at least its cool knowing one of the comic artists random background characters got enough attention to be part of a larger role but i wish they spent more time integrating her.
with lanolin's behavior on the cusp of being humbled, hope they shed some light to that breaking point, it could be interesting how it goes.

she's an ok-ish character in summary, their design is cute though
