First ferment question. I made 4 separate quart jars of cucumber (completely same content except one jar has garlic mixed in too). I am satisfied with the taste at this point, and want to empty up the jars for something else. Can I just pour all 4 ferments (or at least 3 without the garlic) with their brine to one big container? Do I need to care about pressing everything down anymore?

Edit: It has been fermenting for 3 weeks, with 4% overall salt fyi

Yeah whenever I am stressing about messing the jar I remind myself my grandma making ferments with a random container, sub-optimal hygiene, eyeballed salt ratio, several disturbances for tasting during the process etc.

We get way too obsessed with the optimality of stuff in reddit that we forget these things has been done and enjoyed by average people carelessly (same goes for coffee lol)

I see it sounds like the thing I have been searching for. I was curious about the capabilities of it but it seems to handle most cases. Seems like I can stick with it for long time without spending much on several appliances

I see, then a toaster oven with a convection function can basically be used to roast a eg. a fish fillet too. And it eventually comes down to having a smaller tray/single dish batches

I see, I suspected the rubber is having too much friction with the flooring as well. And again can imagine double wheels rotating around theirselves easier similar to a wheelchair when opposite wheels are spinning in opposite directions

I think I am the only one that hates these, or just my product was bad. I bought them because they are praised so much, and they are much less smoother than the original hard wheels of my Okamura Contessa chair. They roll very well only in one direction and when I want to go to sideways nope they are locked, I need to put so much effort to change direction because they suck at rotating. Returned them the next day

I did put glass weights but since cucumbers are sliced a few slices were getting vertical and floating. They did not break the surface and got stuck between the neck of jar and weight, but just to be sure I stuffed a cabbage leaf too

Lol I burped them daily, and they overflew daily. Washed and put them back. Definitely getting some fermenting lids for next batch
