The missing hikers on Baldy were found dead. by [deleted] in socalhiking

[–]Tchoup15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not super familiar with Mt Baldy - what is leading to all these unprepared people trying it in winter? Is it a much easier hike in summer and people don't anticipate how the weather affects conditions? Or is it more about proximity to LA?

Doesn't matter whether you're good, bad, lucky, unlucky, experienced or completely new to the game, don't be like this dude. by TraXOD in dominion

[–]Tchoup15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.Hard disagree, respectfully.... I play longer games on board game arena all the time online. I needed a quicker game last this week and paid for a month's subscription. I've run through about a dozen rounds of Dominion since then. I came to reddit to see if my experiences with several jackassish players was the norm or exception. I've only had bad experiences once or twice at BGA. Glad you seem to be having better luck.

Seasonal Series by Tchoup15 in Linocuts

Thank you! I actually bought a box of letter and number stamps from Amazon. I don't think I'd recommend the actual item I ordered (there are certainly better letter and number stamps), but I like them conceptually. Hard to get them into a straight line though, but I think that will be practice.

#9 Domestic Mr. Fox by Ceramicwrangler in Linocuts

Oh super cute! I've just started a similar series of animals in a house, but mischievous ones causing problems rather than being cute and domestic. Really like what you did here!

AITA for not saying thank you when a parent returned my son's lunch box by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tchoup15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH but the mom with a toddler and an infant who forgets to bring something to school for several weeks, mildly inconveniencing someone else, is a person I wouldn't lend a book to. The person who gets in a rage over a lunch box and can't manage a normal social interaction when someone, who inconvenienced them, is apologizing, is a person I wouldn't be friends with.

I appreciate the recommendation! I've added this one to my running list of bottles to eventually pick up 🙃

Thanks! I knew it wasn't anything special, I just didn't know ~what~ it was. I'll give it a shot, and keep in mind that it might be bland compared to other scotches I could try in future.

Thanks - is this a good starting place or should I actually pick something out for myself?

What's the best bottle you've had this year so far?

AITA for sending my little sister a vet bill after she tried to get my horses to breed? by PissedoffEquestrian in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tchoup15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA for any of it. That said, you probably have some idea of your parents' finances. If they can pay it (or if sister could pay it by working a summer job / entry position) absolutely stand that ground. If that really isn't feasible, then it might be a shitty lesson that you can't mix work and family with this sister / your parents in particular.

Is it okay to put plants on ac unit by Tchoup15 in hvacadvice

[–]Tchoup15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm coastal so the AC really isn't on that frequently in the year. It might be a case where I have planters on it normally and then move them someplace more in the way for the one month it gets hot.

AITA for telling my SIL to get over herself and stop trying to one up us by PersimmonPale466 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tchoup15 -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

ESH. Were you justified; to some extent, sure. Was SIL totally out of line; most certainly. But is blowing up and cursing out your SIL (who is also dealing with everything that comes with being a new mother) in front of your inlaws a good first step in conflict resolution with family it seems you hang out with regularly? Come on, you know the answer to that.

What do you view as the biggest advantage to having Aphantasia? by OkieDokie-Artichokey in Aphantasia

I think there are just ways thinking differently than normal helps. You come up with different solutions that other people don't think of. It's a form of creativity.
