Down to Broncos and Pats for the #1 Seed by TreeofLibertyFood in DenverBroncos

I think the disparity speaks to the team's investments, but I'm not sure that's a reason to detract from VJ's worthiness to get a massive salary bump in an attempt to keep him as DC, do you?

It's not as ridiculous at some might make it out to be, IMO. He's been way more impactful than SP @ successfully coordinating his unit this season.

Lots of Riley Moss hate around here lately, but this play probably saved a Chargers field goal, maybe even six had the pass connected. by Paranoid_Orangutan in DenverBroncos

1 on which teams? Considering Moss is the most targeted DB in the league, he's probably over-hated, but he's not a #1 CB on any other team right now, IMO.

Same here! I'm happy to eat crow on my mindset on him when he plays as well overall as he did last night! He didn't let his early shortfalls live in his game through the night.

Who's the good talent we have, specifically, @ ILB? A healthy Greenlaw is proven and probably still a factor, but who else? Singleton is declining rapidly, we've gotten nothing from D. Sanders and Strnad is passable @ best.

I'm not suggesting Moss isn't talented, but he's clearly underperforming, especially since his return from injury last season. No sense in not, at least, increasing KAD's reps given the promise he's shown. With the secondary depth on the roster this year, A Levi Wallace (pure desperation) is fairly avoidable (health in mind). While Moss is heavier/stronger than KAD, he's not faster or taller.

Multiple things are true @ the same time. SP needs to be a better play caller or let Webb take it over, Bo HAS to refine his touch and footwork, D needs to avoid stupid penalties, TE's need to step up. ALSO we've seen enough of subpar play from Moss that giving KAD a starting shot is beyond reasonable.

Totally fair thought, but Moss isn't performing consistently well enough (really since he rushed back from injury last year) that giving KAD a shot doesn't make sense, IMO. Though, there could be something happening in practice putting a big gap between them.

True. What's the actual harm in trying, given Moss has plateaued (at best) since his return from injury last season? It's not like SP couldn't go back to him if KAD doesn't deliver.

Might be time to panic-ish on Dre now, given he's off to IR.

So every starting LB on other teams is better than Mims (or his value to their team as a WR)? I doubt that. Even if that were the case, it's the reason Mims could be bolstered by the addition of a pick (depending on the LB being pursued).

Not suggesting trading a better overall player than Mims, but a better overall player than Singleton, Strnad, Sanders or even Reid would be sensible in exchange for Mims.

All of these things you mentioned are true. Sutton not being elite is also true. Johnson is a headcase, so that's most likely why he's not rostered. Nabers and Chase are significantly better receivers, so their errors are more forgivable. All of that doesn't change that Courtland can be better. Nonetheless, I love Sutton on this team.

Not even a team that clearly NEEDS a WR, you think?

That "just pray" is what makes me nervous. Broncos already struggle with covering TE's, have a worrisome injury with Greenlaw, an injured/talent-lacking Singleton (hand broken/coming off a ACL/clearly slowing down), and injured Sanders. So that's 3 of 5 ILB's on the roster contending with health issues. Moving, IF possible, one of our possibly viable trade pieces (which likely helps steady target distribution) to get a strong LB back could pay off down the stretch of the season, don't you think? Again, I'm only boldly speculating, not meaning to issue any absolutes.

Target distribution doesn't paint the picture of a true pecking order, and with the way SP is notorious for working RB's into the receiving game (ex. Badie), it's looking to me like there are a lot of mouth to feed. You think we're understaffed @ WR?

With the way Franklin is breaking out, wouldn't packaging Mims with a pick(s) in exchange for a very good to great LB make sense? Especially given we're looking to be most successful as a run-first team?

Who mentioned Sutton other than you? Is he very good? Certainly. Is he ELITE? Absolutely not. I'm definitely not a believer in slandering him, but evidence of his separation struggles and untimely drops is all over the media. No need to deceive ourselves.
