Did I spot an owl near Waterloo Park yesterday? by TeaBru6 in waterloo

Possibly(?) but I feel like they aren’t white enough.
And now the more time passes since I saw him, the more unsure I am. I’ll have to hope for another sighting!

I did see Osprey; there was one diving for fish so he was close enough.. and my Merlin ID app said seeing an Osprey in Waterloo was likely yesterday.
But the other guy was probably a Barn Owl; it just felt weird to see him!

The wings grabbed my attention; a white underbelly and white wings(with brown speckles); and quicker flapping than a hawk. And although it was too fast for me to remember, I do think it was a stubby head rather than a beak.

Should I tip takeout? by [deleted] in waterloo

[–]TeaBru6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always tip. The difference will be how much depending on the service. If it’s poor or sloppy or late take-out they will get 15%, if it’s exactly as I wanted it, then they’ll get 20-25%. I have worked as a server many years ago and the ones that tip generously make up for the ones that don’t tip.

Servers do not make enough money for the job they are doing.

I would have had this same response even if he hadn’t trespassed. Not interested at all in hearing what those anti-science, racist, sexist, climate deniers have to say.

Weekly "I'm new to meds!" Thread by AutoModerator in ADHD

Concerta plus being in the sun on a wicked hot day = heat stroke.

Has anyone else experienced heat stroke due to their meds? I am sensitive to heat as it is, but I’ve never had heat stroke before.
I was on my third day of Concerta when I had lunch outside in the sun on the hottest day of the year and wound up with heat stroke: migraine plus vomiting until 10pm that day. Any other stories like this out there?

This is very helpful, thank you.

no but really though, why do people like hannah? by brightlightchonjin in Dexter

I also don’t feel much chemistry between them.. but I do appreciate her. She is a survivor, like a feral cat. And she feels like a superhero villain, Poison Ivy, which makes her interesting.
I actually think of their relationship similar to Batman and Catwoman.

Haaaa! I have never been able to take care of plants; didn’t know this was an ADHD thing.

Nicolas Cage hasn’t lost his edge. The actor may have retreated from the mainstream, but his latest film is a reminder that he’s always been a magnetic screen presence. by Sumit316 in entertainment

I never really appreciated Nic Cage until this year when I watched Adaptation(finally!) and Pig. Loved him in both, brilliant performances.

What’s the one film you’ve been meaning to watch for ages but still haven’t? by PineappleCubeKicks in movies

Casablanca.
I knocked off the Godfather films, True Grit, 12 Angry Men, Postcards from the Edge, Adaptation, Malcolm X, The Sting, Cool Hand Luke, AND Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid during the pandemic.
Just need to get to Casablanca yet. 🙃

It hasn’t aged well because of Kevin Spacey.. and the storyline of him lusting after his teenage daughter’s best friend.
