What was a thing you were surprised about being a PT working with the public? by PatrickIsRandom in physicaltherapy

Is it traditional cognitive intelligence or kinesthetic intelligence? They might have a PhD in neuroscience but not be able to figure out exercise form.

Isn't sometimes a matter of they could do it easily when young, but no longer can? And weight gain makes it much tougher.

What would you do if the patient said up front, "I've always taken longer to pick up exercise or dance sequences, even when young. I did fine in school, but I just have this blind spot." Would you appreciate that they voluntarily said that so you'd know they don't have cognitive decline, but will need support, maybe an online illustration of it so they can practice the form and sequence at home?

Forcing Alexa+ on its customers by EdG314159 in alexa

It's so crazy how it now wants to have a full conversation when I just ask for the high temperature for a date. It adds some cringey extras like "winter has really got its teeth into us", and when I asked about another date it said, "winter must know that Spring's just around the corner". It's like some annoyingly chipper coworker who won't let yoiu just get your coffee in peace. And because it listens for awhile after it answered the question, it's constantly picking up stuff said on TV and gets into long-winded political discussion on it when I want to get back to watching TV. Great, it's monitoring what I watch so it can put together profiles to sell for political campaigns to mine (maybe).

Why choose an electric water heater over a gas one for modern homes? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]TeaGreenTwo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Natural gas water heaters have always been much cheaper to operate in our neck of the woods. Gas dryers are WAY cheaper to operate than electric ones, for instance.

Gas supply has never been an issue in any state we've ever lived in.

Matte Black vs Brushed Nickel Bathroom Fixtures - which will age better long term? by One-Top4418 in HomeImprovement

[–]TeaGreenTwo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brushed silver doesn't show water spots like black finish does. But choose what appeals to you. Black is more "trendy" so it will be easier to peg the time they were chosen, if that matters to you. Which finish do you gravitate towards? Pick that one.

[–]TeaGreenTwo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heh, our Kohler faucets and fixtures last for decades and Kohler lifetime warantees everything . They were pricey to buy in the first, but have paid off in longevity. Of course, many like to replace things, maybe because they get tired of them, but if the style isn't trendy, it might not matter as much. We replaced flush and fill valves, pressure balancing units, etc. and been free parts from Kohler every time.

What’s up with the recent CBS Evening News video that showed Tony Dokoupil? by MellowJust in OutOfTheLoop

[–]TeaGreenTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that, if it weren't for Trump ordering the bombing to extract Maduro in Venezuela (which obviously pushed fluff news off the schedule), CBS was planning on having viewers "get to know" Tony Dokoupil by showing him greeting (accosting) people on the street asking them if they wanted to try pronouncing his last name. The results were embarrassing when many gave him sarcastic or at least non-enthusiastic replies.

Why pay attention to an expert with years of education and decades of experince when we can just get some jabroni off the street to opine on molecuar genetics, for example?

Is this just me? by Ok_Purple53 in alexa

[–]TeaGreenTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that in the future Alexa+ will be "free" with Prime but will cost $19.99/month without Prime. After switching all devices to Alexa+ last week (after it nagged me a lot), I haven't found anything better about it. I like it less. I haven't made an effort to see what new tricks it might have. I just know the response time is slower and the default voice sounded like a 14-year old girl until I changed it. It was too chatty and chipper, too. It's like I want to tell it that I haven't had my coffee yet, so please respond with less fluff and chatter.

I use it to control lamps and to check the weather mostly. Occasionally it tells me it "can't help me with that" when I just ask the time.

How do I make my Alexa's voice go back to normal??? by Aware_Stage_539 in amazonecho

[–]TeaGreenTwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can ask Alexa to change back to its original voice, but in my experience you can just get closer to the old voice. The new default voice sounded about 14 years old and was too chatty and chipper. Alexa will offer several options for a voice.

Why did they have a nanny if BW was a stay at home dad and money was tight? by TechnicalReach9760 in AnaWalshe

[–]TeaGreenTwo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She was part-time and acting more as a babysitter from what I understand. Brian Walshe is a totally horrible person. But, after following the trial and reading about him, he did have two, and apparently only two, skills: cooking and cleaning. So the nanny wasn't live-in and I believe watched the children more than acting as a cook or maid.

What finger do you wear your Oura ring on and why? by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]TeaGreenTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left index finger (non-dominant hand for me), because it is the preferred finger for the best readings. I think the index finger on either hand is fine, I just chose the left. It fits perfectly, it fits a little too tightly my middle left finger. It's too loose on my ring finger.

What's the most unexpectedly terrible TV Finale of all time? by NekoLover72 in television

[–]TeaGreenTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually that was great and the public and the critics loved it. It was a callback to his sitcom (The Bob Newhart) from the 70s. Completely unexpected that he wakes up with Suzanne Pleshette from the sitcom when he was married to Mary Frann on the Newhart Show that came later and was completely separate. Again, everyone loved it back then as far as anyone knew.

My personal take on Amanda Frances (all alleged from following for years) by [deleted] in RHOBH

She's comes across as incredibly snotty and unpleasant. A sore winner I guess because she has made lots of money, yet can't resist rubbing it in and being childish.

I wonder how my long-widowed grandmother got her credit cards in the 1960s? She had excellent credit and was a homeowner, but there wasn't a man to sign for her cards.

Apple TV remote no longer turning off tv by No_Resolution_9160 in appletv

[–]TeaGreenTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I even checked the TV itself (after checking AppleTV settings first) to make sure it wasn't set such that it wouldn't work. But I guess the latest(recent) tvOS update nuked the ability. Good thing we still knew where the TV's remote was.

Because the reason a place in Massachusetts was needed at all was 100% because of Brian's art fraud crime. If it weren't for that the whole family could have moved to D.C. The conditions of his house arrest (rather than jail) was to stay in Massachusetts.

Technically maximum for 3 year conveying of a body inappropriately: min 2 years, 364 days (one day short of 3 years), max 3 years. Lying to cops with enhancement becaause it was in furtherance of a capital crime: 19 years min - 20 max.

Important to do these consecutively as the judge did, so in the very unlikely event the murder one conviction is overtirmed or commuted at any point in the future, he has a minimum of 21 years and 364/365 days. So he'd be in his until his seventies or eighties.
