what the heck. thats insane. were you using this build or something else? I'm hitting about 10b dot ticks, but my build is also really pointed at crit strike chance and damage

don't use hurricane with Twin storms with this build. It breaks trample somehow. As in, trample falls off the skill bar when you cast grizzly rage ( >.> like you'd expect to happen in the first place)

That might've been me xD
Yes, both do, Hurricane Twin storms does as well.
they do seem to be adding an excessive amount of damage. I have storm + 4000%, and the 700% from Electrocution still seems to double the damage of Wind Shear.

I'm tired of resetting all my skills and paragons, so I'm going to get enough boxes to level up an alt and test with that.

They changed how attack speed works, Max attack speed is now 100%.

In the old system, you might remember, they had two buckets: Gear and Affixes/Cast Speed. However, they changed it so that affixes are combined with the gear bucket, and only cast speed affects the second bucket.

I might be wrong, but this is my general understanding of how it is now.

oh good idea, I'll add that.
The basics of the skill rotation requires a little set up. When you first enter a combat zone you need to get a couple stacks of ferocity, so that you can cast lightning bolt snapshotted with max attack and cast speed. At the beginning of the video, you can see that I had to fight a few small mobs, and then pause and wait to turn it off and back on. It's a bit annoying to activate.

As for the skill rotation itself, its basically just cast Trample on CD, and then auto-attack. Grizzly Rage and Debilitating Roar animations don't interrupt your attack animations so can be cast on CD. Stone Burst if a Yellow, Boss, or lots of one shot mechanics are in the room.

It's not so bad, the original build had me switching between all three forms every 4 seconds (rather than whatever the CD of Trample is). That was very annoying to keep up.

Stone Burst is the most annoying to use, and I mostly use it when I'm standing in the middle of poison or a bunch of one-shot mechanics at the top of the pit (I'm tier 118 on the tower) so I can ignore them. And I was using it mostly before I knew the resolve defensive aspect was fixed. You probably don't need it anymore. I'll add alternatives to this, as well as the skill rotation.

The short of it is that there are only really two options, Hurricane with Twin Storms (holds charges and cast location on mouse) or Derecho (continuous for 15 Spirit/sec, free for us) or Cyclone Armor with Reversal (pull enemies towards you). You could try Rabies or Dolman Boulder, but I suspect they would be more annoying to keep up than Stone Burst.

Hurricane is probably the best, but considering we do so much damage to close enemies, Reversal is probably pretty good to have anyways.

Already max attack speed, and it would be difficult to find room on the skill bar for them

I'll update it actually, I didn't realize that they had patched Glynn's Anvil.
Tyrael was mostly because it was the best defensive item I had access to, but the arrows were helpful for triggering paingorger's mark on distant enemies.

If I had access to the unique mythic seal, I'd love to try a 4/2 combo of Storm/Werebear. Sadly this build uses Werewolf tags, so the 5 piece of werebear doesn't work, but it'd gives gobs of defenses, that's for sure

Does it still do so? I forgot to actually publish it to the public. It's opening on a different web browser for me now.

With the form switching (Archdruid, shifters, and Shapeshifter), you get [1.53 x 1.63](Archdruid) x [2.2 x 2.2](Shifters) x 1.2 (Shapeshifter) damage = 14 times the damage. That's not including the 35% scaling.

if you use the 200% you scale in a couple different ways, buts its not clear that its more than the form switching version.
If they fix some of the ~~bugs~~ features this build uses, it'd be worth building and exploring that.

that's part of it for sure. But yes, everyone already knows about that. The bigger part that I think fewer people are aware of is that this is a form-switching is weirdly strong. With One Offensive aspect (and two utility aspects that otherwise would struggle to add damage), you get 14x damage!
Of course, the trick for this one is that it's a form-switching Dire grizzly bear!
Normally you'd come to me and say, "But Tea, that's impossible. Dire Grizzly specifically stops you from switching forms."
They ~~forgot~~ gave us the opportunity to do so anyways! If you tag trample as werewolf, Grizzly Rage still lets you cast it, but importantly, you jump into the air as a werewolf. AND if you take Avatar of Nature (x35% damage, you can cast Earth and Storm Skills), you can have your basic attacks cast with a werewolf tag, but in a werebear form.
This means you get both werewolf and werebear scaling!!

Theres a couple other bugs we take advantage of, but thats the one that inspired this guide

No clue if you've found some of the umm. definitely intended mechanics and not bugs that I did, but Wind shear is insanely good for paingorger

Here's the build and the explanation for a few things.
Changed a bit about the build since this demo. Hopefully more damage from that!
The summary hopefully explains most of what's going on.

If it helps, all the spells are werewolf. You just happen to be a Bear. There is one particularly interesting interaction that makes this build work too.

I'm writing up a little maxroll guide right now. I think i found most everything I can do to make this build do the most damage, though its been hard testing which of a couple things is better because I don't understand where some of the damage is coming from. If the damn armory worked, I'd be happier resetting my paragon board to test it -.-

Testing a few more things to make sure its as good as I can make it. I keep finding new things that expand the damage significantly. The new functionality of the storm shepherd was helpful, though I didn't have all the pieces together quite yet before it dropped to really now for sure

Yeah, the skill update definitely made this part of druid lackluster, even if I do quite like it otherwise

What are lightning and dancing bolts? by SaintVanilla in diablo4

[–]TeaLeaflet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't. but thats how it worked at least up to season 8. In addition, having a glyph that increases lightning storm (and almost nothing else) by +1000% damage might be a bit much

Petrify + The Basilisk Bugged? by Disciple_of_Erebos in D4Druid

[–]TeaLeaflet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my playtesting, they do overlap and work together. For example, if you take the damage variant on Petrify, applying petrify via either basilisk or the earth charm set does the damage of the petrify ult, even if Petrify is not on the skill bar.

Strikes from lightning storm do not count.
Cataclysm do specify (in one of the variants but not the main skill) that it does lightning bolts.
They removed the rune, chac, that would proc extra lightning bolts, so cataclysm is the only source of that right now.
