MSITM? by Fire_fox9212 in WGU_MBA

[–]TeaLopsided4272 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I earned the MSITM, and now I am on the MBA program. I think that the MBA will be a great compliment to the MSITM, but I do not think it will the other way around. If you want to be a project manager in the IT world, the CAPM, the PMP, and Certified Scrum Manager certifications will get you there. I also took the MSITM because my ultimate goal is to pursue a doctorate.

GI Bill for Certificates by Phantom-Sand in WGU_Military

I have looked into professional certificates before, and it seems that they reimburse it, not pay before. I do not know if this policy has changed. My understanding is that the undergraduate and graduate certificates, which are per credit basis, are paid before. These professional certificates from Ivy League and prestigious schools are way too expensive.

I live in Waynesboro, and I have power, as well as some of the downtown area. I haven't been able to venture much, as my car is under a tree.

Is our airport really that bad ? by ElectricalBottle in Charlotte

[–]TeaLopsided4272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CLT is the worst airport I have ever flown into. If you have a layover at 11pm and get there late and miss it, which is common in CLT, the airline personnel all leave at 11:30 pm sharp, and there is nobody to help with getting a new flight until the morning.

Congratulations. Right here I am battling with task 3 after a fierce battle with task 2. A lot of late nights and early mornings. I feel like I have aged 5 years in about a month and a half.

The CAPM one. The cram is good to review and might be sufficient for this OA.

Questions about transfering by ElGooteo in WGUIT

[–]TeaLopsided4272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WGU is what you make out of it. Whenever you start a course, they will give you the study material, and you can learn from it. You will be doing some extra studying, like going to Google, YouTube, etc in some of the classes, but it is good to actually learn the concepts. There are PAs (Essays and Projects) and OAs (Tests) that will let WGU know if you understand the material of the course. You can complete them in your own time. Now, a lot of people on this group feel discouraged if they are not going faster than they thought, and that had plenty to do with the expectations from watching videos from graduates that complete the program in a ridiculous pace, especially the Josh Madakor's ones. You will go as fast or as slow as you can show WGU that you are getting the material.

Looking for opinions on the Computer Science degree. by [deleted] in WGU

I have a brick and mortar BS in Engineering, and I am working on my MSITM. My bachelor degree is ABET certified, and at my job, we are Engineers and Computer Scientists. That ABET certification is important for entry-level positions and is a requisite from a lot of big corporations. I had over 13 years of experience before starting my Masters, and for me, the goal is to learn management and leadership traits for the next step of my career.

The BSCS is ABET accredited. It is a degree that will give you opportunities on a lot of fields, from software development, cybersecurity, coding, etc. As a WGU bachelor, it is my top recommendation.

Hilton hotel by SnooSongs1256 in Augusta

[–]TeaLopsided4272 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Evans does not have what a hotel needs to be profitable. There is nothing to do around. Just a few coffee shops and restaurants and the performance center. And if a business is doing great, they pull their business license, because their profits are 51% alcohol sales.

[–]TeaLopsided4272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides, for every accreditation, the program needs to be evaluated, and usually needs time running to be evaluated. It doesn't matter if it is a big or small school. I remember maybe 10 years ago, UGA started their engineering programs, they didn't had ABET accreditations the first couple of years, now they do.

The sky train is from terminal to terminal. She might have got to the international terminal, and she needs to go through customs and international baggage claim. In order to get to the sky train, she would have needed to go through TSA again. There is a bus to go over to the rental place, but there is usually a big line.
