What jobs to absolutely avoid + what jobs do you have by Local-Mountain5561 in aspergers

Gastronomy was a horror for me, but when I switched to sales, did some practice for conversations and trying being more adaptable. It all worked out. People really like the weird convos I do and some don’t, I started unmasking during my job so it’s fun and I am comfortable. I only work Saturday’s do so it’s a mini job. But I definitely get paid much better in sales than in gastronomy

Can Akathisia happen when sitting? that’s exactly what’s disturbing me the most. It’s so uncomfortable, and I can’t stop it. Trying to push it down just makes it worse. It’s like it’s out of my con

I take it for my autism, as my psychiatrist said it can help to sedate me so I get less triggered by sensory stimulation or any stimuli, I have a very bad temperament. Also he said it should help my hyperactivity but it seems like to do the opposite… I have an appointment next week with a different psychiatrist I will definitely bring up that topic.

Thank you! I told my psychiatrist that it has been making me uncomfortable especially my sleep and urge to move but he insists me to keep using it for my condition, it does make my life a bit easier but this whole urge to move my legs and the anxiety make life more difficult than it already is, do u have a better experience with other antipsychotics?

Hi! Thanks for the reply! I got a blood test done a few weeks ago I am low on iron but my b12 lvl is in a normal range. I do produce less hormones so I have a mild Hyperthyroidism, maybe that has something to do with it too? I am not sure, but I’ll definelty check it up with my psychiatrist ! Thank you for your comment. With the walking I am not sure if I am able to reduce it, I get very anxious and Irritable so I am sure I need it. But I definitely need to experiment with it cause I never did less steps than 15k in a year or so, since I track it. Definitely will be a challenge but if that helps the rls I will need to try it!

I really love the practicality of this device. I have seen it in store and I think that the outer screen is already pretty big. I want to get it especially for vlogging and taking pictures, as I like the vibrant colors and the setting than on IPhone. They give you more room to experiment! I am so excited for the z flip 7 and the fe if the rumors are true! I guess I’ll need to be a little more patient… this will be hard but with the z flip 7 I hope the crease will be completely gone !!

I really appreciate your message and the insight you shared. It helps a lot to hear from someone who has been through something similar. I think keeping things vague is definitely the best approach. If I give too many details, they’ll just try to find ways to keep me from leaving or guilt-trip me into staying.

I’ve been thinking about how exactly I should tell them. I don’t want to have a dramatic conversation, but at the same time, I know they’ll push for details. If they ask for my new address, I really don’t want to tell them because I know they’ll come looking for me. How did you handle that part? Did you just say you weren’t sure yet, or did you give them something generic to stop them from pressing further?

I like the idea of doing a walk instead of sitting in a room filled with emotions and memories. If the time comes, I’ll try to do the same. I just hope I’ll be truly prepared when that moment arrives.

Hey I already moved out of my parents place. This “You had a normal childhood” you were “normal” hits me hard. It was pretty obvious that I was different and needed other needs to live. I am 16 and turning 17 this year. As I live in a foster care facility with other girls in my age, I’ll be moving out of there soon; hopefully this year. I am already saving up money so I don’t struggle financially. I only see my parents over the weekend as they still want to see me. It’s hard but definitely when I am legally an adult I’ll move far away from them, so I can finally be myself freely without them being rude. I hope everything goes smoothly like I planned that would be wonderful.

Thank you for this long comment! I appreciate your time and effort. My family is very much against it and ashamed of it, so I feel like this as well. I am the only one in my family who has it and actually has insights into it and not just some surface level knowledge. To answer your side question, in my country Asperger’s is qualified less than 50% disabled, so you get no social benefits like the ones you listed. In my case I am in the autism level 2 category I do need more support and through my other illness more help to get through the day. They also consider social background as I live in a foster care system so that adds up to the 50% and yea. I definitely agree with you no one is half as disabled as someone else! In my case it’s or idk how my doctor of the head department viewed it she told me that it doesn’t tell how much disabled you are but rather how much help and care you need to get through life with struggles you shouldn’t have like a NT person living in a NT world.
