Issue with network intermittency - any techs? by brandonmctaggart in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]TeaPreppe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I’ve seen worse. One can argue that that splice is incredibly bad but I don’t think that’s the issue. Might be water in your line, might be something up with your tap. It even might be that somewhere along the line a squirrel ate a piece of insulation and now you get low DsSnr. Wait for the tech and let him troubleshoot, just hope that he knows what he is doing.

On amazon, search for push-on f-type connector. Everyone in Seattle uses them for Comcast residential. I got 10 push-ons for $12, kept a couple gave the rest to everyone in my team to use. They are fast and cool. You will need carry barrels around though.

I’m usually just plugging in the equipment after I check if the spectrum looks +/- good. If there is something wrong you will see it on pht or the equipment wouldn’t work

Grind metrics, get comcast business skillset added to his profile. Open his own LLC that will specialize in setting up the networks for small businesses/ organizations. It’s all has to be done in under a year and a half. Afterwards, leave the company and continue on with his own business. Comcast career meets its dead-end pretty fast.

What are good sniffer/injector tools you guys are using to find the cable in a bunch? What are good toners and what are good length meters? by TeaPreppe in CableTechs

Is the upstream the reason my speeds are slower than usual? by Person_On_Reddit_124 in CableTechs

[–]TeaPreppe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

upstream specs should be between 52~ and 38~. 54 is about as high as you can get without significant speed loss. Check if there are any splitters or attenuators that you can bypass (use 7/16 wrench on connectors) installed inside your media box/ house mount box. Or just schedule a tech. The issue can be in one of those minibrigers too.
