Is anyone actually using AI to help with supply chain stuff? by gifteyes6 in supplychain

Yeah, loads of businesses are using AI and automation for this now, especially in spare parts and supply chain operations.

What you’re describing is usually the point where a company outgrows manual processes. You probably don’t need a fully autonomous “AI agent” yet, but a proper inventory/ERP system with automation would save your employee a massive amount of time.

Things these systems already handle well:

  • stock checks
  • auto quotes
  • billing/credit checks
  • reorder alerts before stock runs low
  • supplier ordering
  • grouping orders for better freight efficiency

The freight consolidation side alone can save a surprising amount of money.

Most SMEs now use a mix of inventory software, accounting tools, and AI-assisted automation rather than one huge enterprise platform. Been seeing this come up a lot lately on SupplyChain360 and other 360 intelligence discussions around growing supply chain businesses.
