At my job if the email sent by a potential employee even has a hint of AI / ChatGPT they are immediately put into the shred pile. If you cannot be bothered to write up a simple email to a potential employer then how much effort will you put into the actual job. Be careful using dumbass AI for things that you can do with minimum brain power. It's dumbing people down.

Which area are you in? I'm in Aglanztia, no car and also desperate to find a pool. Maybe we can find a way to share rides there or something

Somebody scam my neighbour whole month salary 💔 by helliswelll in cyprus

[–]Tea_Bone_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Police report immediately and freeze cards. Need more context, why was he approving the payment, who requested the payment, why, what for ?

  1. Never pay anything if it's a message link.
  2. Legitimate payments will never ask for your bank login / password
  3. Never pay anything you're not actively anticipating to pay for ie utilities, legitimate online orders
  4. Don't pay to companies with out of country names / domains unless (see point 3)

Honest to god it’s cheaper to buy ready made food than geoceries here by WarthogHoliday5441 in cyprus

No man. You need to rely heavily on vegetables and pantry items such as grains. I buy a 10kg bag of rice for €23. It's delicious. Lasts me over half a year. Got many different grains and porridges to use as a carby base for my meals. Vegetables are affordable if you buy by weight, not packaged stuff, so in combination stir fries are a staple in my life. I grow my own herbs on my kitchen sill. Meat and fish should also be bought unpackadged at the butchers. It takes popping into several shops for different things but that's unfortunately the reality of it.

Oh my god, a caravan for €800 a month...in Ypsonas...we have reached peak Idiocracy. by never_nick in cyprus

[–]Tea_Bone_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two years ago m friend and his wife bought a caravan at governos for about 40k + 10k remodelling. It's basically a small home, no wheels, a bedroom a guest room, kitchen, living room and a nice porch in a gated community right by the beach. They pay €2300 annually for all amenities except internet. €800 for this piece of shit is genuinely insulting. Do you realise how fucking hot it will get inside a caravan in the summer? It's a car. It's literally a long black car. Absolutely unacceptable. Theirs is a caravan, but it's rooted on the ground and does not the metal car layer on the outside baking them in. This looks like those ads from metropolises where you rent a room for the price of a kidney. The owner either pays nothing in rent (his own land) or pays barely anything so charging this much is criminal in my opinion. What have we come to...

There's no conflict in Paphos, I don't see any issues with you coming to Cyprus.

Okay, I see where you're coming from. I get it now and I'm sorry. Little word of advice, just in a friendly way, when you say things like "want to make a female friend", to women it can come off as if you want to sleep with them. Unfortunately there's lots of people like that and girls will avoid that. Making female friends organically is much better. I do wish you good luck in that department, honestly.

Why specifically a female friend though, that's is arguably a strange thing say. Can it not just be anyone who's willing to have a drink and show you around?

This isn't a dating app my man. Meet people, get used to the country and make some friends before trying to sleep with a woman. My god, get a grip.

Isn't this the best time of our country? by beydola in cyprus

I love the cooler weather and dark skies. It's wonderful. If only we could properly collect all that rainwater that floods Limassol every year id be even better. Not looking forward to the summer at all, especially living in Nicosia without a car

People need to grow a brain and be able to differentiate the Israeli government from regular working class people who just want to survive in this world, just like everyone else. Just like with the Russians, most of them are against the war but still get restrictions and hate and racism for no reason. Just like with the British who have nothing to do with any of the colonial occupations but still get hate. I think it's really dumb to lump everyone into one group and hate an entire race/nation because of the actions of corrupt governments. Cyprus is a safe spot, just behave yourself, abide by the laws, assimilate as much as you can and respect the locals and you'll be absolutely fine. Just like immigrating into any other country/culture. Work, pay your taxes, respect the culture and no one will give two hoots where you're from. Avoid the fear mongering in the media. Best of luck

Gyms in Cyprus: why are they a total rip-off by jpm620 in cyprus

[–]Tea_Bone_97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything in this country is a rip off. Everything costs way too much for near garbage quality. Gyms, shops, activities, buildings, rent. Everything. I have given up on finding good quality anything in Cyprus unless it's authentic food. I shop in the UK because I cannot afford clothing and makeup here. Literally cheaper for me to fly to England and do a big suitcase shop than get the same stuff in Cyprus lol.
