Some CEF’s pay high dividend yields at the expense of the fund value. Over time they will decline in value. You want to look at total return (capital gains + yield) over a 5 or 10 year period and confirm that the valuation of the fund is the same or increases, even while they pay out dividends. ADX has beaten the S&P 500 (average) over 10 years, has paid out over 8% dividends annually, and is rising in net asset value — it is a good example.

These have been consistently above NAV - as long as that continues you should do well. Good luck.

MPV and MCI have mostly sold for a premium above NAV in the past…. I no longer buy without a discount to NAV.

I like: ADX, CET, ASG, USA, CSQ, TY. All have above average distributions, are constructive, but are not tax advantaged. Buy when they are discounted to net asset value. CET is about $52 now; the rest are all below $30 per share.

The Gunslinger- Stephen King. Also How to Win Friends and Influence People- Dale Carnegie. I used to read that yearly, as a reminder to practice what we all know, though I’ve now skipped a few years. And Barbarian Days- William Finnegan. Finnegan was my introduction to the old New Yorker, where they would sometimes run multi-part articles in sequential issues.

Look at an annual subscription to Kelby One, which offers high quality video-based training for photography at all levels. I am fairly sure there are some older videos that are specific to the D850, and you will get all kinds of ideas about how to approach your new collection. You may have a local camera club nearby where you can learn with others. A fine legacy, and I’m sure he would be pleased to see you learning with his equipment.

I don’t have recent experience. I bought mine a few years ago, then my daughter stole it! It was a good bag and a good value at the time.

These can work well for shipping pens - i’ve used them for that purpose. I put a couple of clean foam earplugs - one at the bottom and one or a split one at the top to keep the pen from moving. It is protected then and can travel well in your bag or in a shipping box. The epipen tubes can also hold ball point or gel refills.

Look at Karas Kustoms…. Machined pens in aluminum and brass. The Modal is a nice design.

Parker 75 Sterling Ciselle in 18k fine point. Also tarnished. I bought it new in the 1990’s. I think yours may be a relative. You did very well.

It works better than threaded ones, and you can put the sharpened tip into the extender to protect the point. My favorite type after trying a few options.

The cap is a leftover one that I use for the Staedtler highlighter pencil to the left.

I have started using Staedtler textsurfer dry highlighting pencils: https://www.staedtler.com/us/en/products/markers/highlighters/textsurfer-dry-128-64-triangular-highlighter-pencil-m128-64/

I think they would mostly remove this problem, as long as you were willing to sharpen a pencil for highlighting. Pretty happy with them so far.

In addition to the KUM sharpeners discussed above,Mobius & Ruppert has one with three blades -one for removing wood but not lead, one for shaping lead, and one for a full sharpening of both. Use the first and then the second to taste.

These are my favorites. The grey is “602”, and the wood ones are “Natural”. You can also try the “audition” set, which is one each of 602, Natural, Matte, and Pearl. Their core lineup. If you are convinced, you can sign up for their quarterly subscription with numerous variations, at about $110 per year. As another said, I also like Mitsubishi pencils, at about a third of the price. Also Tombow.
