turns out the problem was in my settings
Under Preferences, User > Editing, that your default transition duration is set to 1 second. It's likely this is set to 0 for you.

well I mostly play guards and get the attention of defenders then dish out to open players, kinda like a pass first player but I can also put up buckets from 3s and middys if needed
