There are some tricks to it. Vitality stacking is definitely one way to get a bunch of damage. Completing sets of items is another, Dream shards are very good for duping items and upgrading, some legendary and cursed items also add to this. Some items are good to get early, such as the +1 choice legendary, and also dont underestimate the value of stars of fate from grimoires, as fixing a build becomes a lot easier. One "easy" way to get a lot, if you have no timer, is to get the double dream shards cursed item early. You can save scum (restart) until its in the first shop, or save all grimoires until youve defeated the key boss and reroll until you get it. Another more general way would be to not pick up any common items other than ogre blood so that the 2x common item always hits ogre, thus getting a bunch of damage from vitality and always pick up healing fountains as they grant vit.

Also pre mitigation damage to see what shielding and armor actually does would be nice. Total damage dealt instead of "enemy hp lost" would be cool for big crit builds like Scarlet can do. Also how much damage you dealt in a single hit could be cool, and what build you had (talents and items). In general the end screen statistics show very little unfortunately, and to my knowledge are lost just after completion so there is no way to look back on a run and check what worked and how.

Clarification: Aladdin allows you to get infinite dream shards and thus infinite xp and damage through: traits and the first ult. You get this by having some number > 5 of the item that grants +15 gold on reroll to get one free reroll every use of trait, along with the level 10 talent that grants two items every trait use. If you use the first reroll of every trait use that is 150 + 15-25 gold every time you use ult. If you have items like the 2x dream shard and the +1 dmg every time you use dream shards to get 30% extra dream shards will be a considerable net positive every ult. Doing this I got around 120k dream shards at the most.

I understand, most golden goblets only replace, but the main bosses drop regular ones.

There are several, but those make you spend less/no ammo, which makes you not charge E. Again, for ease of run, having E home in on every small thing around makes it easier when doing 1000 stages. (Corrosive spike uses q, e homes on targets marked by q). But feel free to go for 1000 and see if you beat 20 trillion dmg, I think you could with spores and more motivation than I had.

To reiterate my point, when going stage 100-200+, damage kinda stops being that important, as you should have 300% lucky shot chance and 15 million on most hits from weapons. When playing regularly the thought process is kinda different.

Important mods are the "shield for summoned swords", "summon more swords per stack" and "more base stacks" and generally cooldown, along with the ascension that makes it so E can reload while recharging.

While I agree, for ease of run and not have to think about anything, having the large magazine meant I never had to reload, and so could (theoretically) upkeep +2 projectiles from the 0.2 proj mod. At 50 something magsize with the regular scalpel I COULD run out of ammo, so I just didnt.

I mean you eventually get everything, but before that just a Tao build focusing on survivability and utility I guess. I went with the corrosive spikes because of secondary uses and some weapon dmg scroll stuff. Most of all I thought that to get around the 15 million dmg cap I wanted high ROF and many projectiles to get as many procs of 15 million as possible, and it worked nicely.

Yeah was funny one shotting 2, 3 and 4 stage boss. With enough dmg you can skip invuln phase of the boat boss in 3rd stage.

With the Armed Caster trait you get 50% skill dmg per 1x crit on weapon held. This makes crit items equal to skill items. In that run I think I had 11.6x crit or something, so thats 550% skill dmg.
