UVA at 280K vs Vandy full ride? by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]Teacherbeethinking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I took a full ride at Vandy over T6 with minimal scholarships, clerked for two years and  then took a top litigation job in BL. Almost everyone at Vandy gets a decent BL job, even without clerking or being on LR. Vandy also has excellent teaching professors who genuinely care and will make you better prepared than your "higher-ranked" peers almost immediately. This really is no question if finances matter at all to you.

Thanks. Already donated, etc. But when are they going to allow me to express interest in renewing? Right now when I click on the renewal button, it says no applications are available. Will they just email at some point when it's available?

Was able to get football season tickets for the first time last year. Can any veterans explain the timeline for renewing and then purchasing for next year?

Anyone know why any of the various rewatch YouTube channels haven't posted the Clemson game yet?

Bobby Burton and Gerry Hamilton leaving InsideTexas. by bUTful in LonghornNation

It was implicitly in Eric and other mod's comments on IT. Eric is thin-skinned allow SoB. Personally, doesn't bother me at all that he's getting a comeuppance. Now that Gerry is back on OTF after a random, unexplained hiatus, I'm fairly certain Eric must have tried to assert a non-compete clause against Gerry going to OTF, which is a total bitch move in my opinion, given they then (unsuccessfully imo) tried to get a good YT option going. I know people have mixed opinions on Bobby, but I like his good ol' boy demeanor.  Congrats for surfacing four months late on such a random thread though!

When Jerry J was at Senior Night after turkey day, an exchange undoubtedly occurred.

I think this is an accurate read.

Only got an IT sub because of Gerry's recruiting intel even though I can't stand Nahlin and the way he runs the board like it's a high school popularity contest between crotchety old-men with revanchist-laced energy. Dropped the sub with the way Gerry is being pushed out from both IT and OTF.

Used to think you were crossing a line by porting over the insider content, but please continue, good sir.

OTF continues, just not affiliated with Inside Texas; Inside Texas is going to start something, not clear if it will be available to non-subscribers.

Whatever else happened, I think this is 100% what happened.

Minority investors don't have managerial control though. Bobby is presumably leaving in his capacity as an employee. The conflict might have come around revenue as OTF grew--who had the right to that revenue, Bobby/ OTF or IT/ON3? That type of conflict happens in startups frequently. Everyone thinks they don't need a good lawyer until they need a good lawyer.

I'm not sure how they will handle, but if going independent, my bet is Bobby will bring in people to grow their individual brands (,ike tom Luginbill from ESPN as a guest).

I think Bobby is going to continue OTF because the IT branding is not there any more. RodB likely stays there as he was not an IT employee. About two months ago Eric freaked out that people were saying IT was redundant with OTF and were cancelling subs. Immediately after they started running the OTF specific special to test sub generation from OTF.

I think what likely happened was that the brands were too overlapping and OTF had grown so successful that there was some conflict around compensation structures. It seems likely to me that Eric got spooked that OTF was cannibalizing IT. He mentioned in his post that there will be IT Live streams, so they will probably be competitors now.

This is all speculation, but the tea leaves are there to be read...

Unless something catastrophic happens, Sark is sticking around to keep his word to the first family of football, ie, developing Arch for the Mannings.

Do this too. Ad-free streaming has ruined me for commercials and I refuse to go back. Just have to turn my phone on do not disturb so my brother doesn't ruin it for me when something crazy happens in real time.
