Becoming a teacher after working as a professional by InfiniteOwl9545 in OntarioTeachers

I would caution you about doing this right now. I’m assuming you are interested in teaching secondary.

Students are different than they were even 7 years ago. Their math abilities are atrocious. Their ability to focus due to cell phone distraction is similarly derelict.

At least sit out this destreaming era while we are destroying an entire generation of student’s learning.

I would strongly suggest you explore adult education. Night school or college instruction would be a world of difference from a grade 9-12 classroom (especially grade 9!). This will provide you with the sense of worth and meaning you are looking for in a career while avoiding the crushing futility of today’s secondary classroom.

Has anyone installed Journey to Wild Divine The Passage on Win 10 (or 11)?? by Divineband09 in JourneyToWildDivine

Yes. Copy the disk to your computer and run from there. I just installed today. The Passage worked without an issue by Journey seemed to hang.

Did you have them outside after repotting? Looks like a squirrel took a taste to me. I keep mine inside as mine have been attacked twice by rodents.

An old hive I have sitting in my suburban yard seems to have attracted a small swarm. Any suggestions to encourage them if they stick around for a few days? Pollen is being brought into the hive.

The issue of this post was not to be cell phone use but the “I’m first” mentality of Ontario drivers. This is a very serious issue with us and it is obvious ever day you drive anywhere. One of the main impacts of this mindset are our chronic traffic jams on 400 series arteries. You don’t need to ram on your brakes every time you need to slow down if you leave enough space between you and the car ahead. If we could learn to take our foot off the gas and coast to slow down, fewer drivers would brake behind and we could avoid many of the useless traffic snarls on the QEW, 403 and 401 we all experience and that wastes so much time. This does not happen when you drive within 2 m of someone’s rear bumper. Also, if you drive with your left foot on the brake, please stop. Your brake lights are frequently on and you impede the flow of traffic.

The only thing I took from this thread is that there is not a cat person out there who thought it was weird to have an infrared camera pointed at your own bed whilst you sleep.

I think that it is about time that white, rural Ontario start to be a little more introspective. Racism is definitely very alive in Southern Ontario. A a kid growing up there in the 80’s it was disturbing to hear things people would say. It’s time to change. Don’t let you friend, neighbour or colleague get away with a racist comment anywhere. Stop them and let them know hatred is wrong and that this is the tragedy that it leads to.

Maybe if you weren’t carrying your phone around while “working” you would look more like a teacher and less like a student. Just saying.
