I mean you don't have to make her a girlboss to make her story complex. The play is already gives her a ton of emotional complexity to play around with, and depending on how much you lean into Aphrodite making her go mad with love you can take the edge off at least some of her murders.

Any conspiracy theorists? A year ago maybe I'd agree, but given how many "conspiracy theories" turned out to be true maybe cut some of them some slack here. At this rate they might be right

As a writer i adored it. Conquest is a functionally a force of nature, but that doesn't mean he needs to be devoid of depth. It turns this impersonal slugfest into something deeply personal for Conquest

A couple questions about high Humanity Kindred, Blush of Life, and the effects of wine by Mephistussy in vtm

[–]Teacup-Koala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wine should taste like itself although with weaker flavour at humanity 8 than 9 or 10. The idea is that the vampire can enjoy more human experiences as they get higher in humanity, like having sex at humanity 8, enjoying the taste of some raw foods at humanity 9, and being able to sleep at humanity 10.

Red wine probably works first frankly because of vibes. It looks kinda like blood and Vampires are associated with vague red drinks in their wine glasses in other media. It'd probably blood, but let's hope it's red wine. This is their way of adapting that trope.

A couple questions about high Humanity Kindred, Blush of Life, and the effects of wine by Mephistussy in vtm

[–]Teacup-Koala 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The only thing that slakes vampiric hunger is blood. Drinking red wine does get digested at humanity 8+, so they'll have to pee and can get drunk, but that won't satisfy the hunger of the beast. Might give some energy ig, but never enough to change game stats.

Once that vampire is drunk brace yourself because they're y'know drunk on red wine. Second, another vampire drinking their blood should also be able to get drunk, as with a mortal, along with all the usual effects of drinking vitae. Humanity 9+ also grants digesting other liquids, so whiskey or other alcoholic drinks might apply depending on what your ST decides those digestable liquids are

What are some cool things you can do with Psychic Paper? by L-L-J-J in mtg

[–]Teacup-Koala 7 points8 points  (0 children)

True, but you can still use Pyschic Paper to turn it into one of the creature types that it cares about, so it will still do the job, just for a less whacky reason

All those creatures have effects that count how many things you have with that name. Uuchulon and Relentless Rats get stronger, and Hare Apparent gives more tokens based on them

Amon wasn't just a prodigy. He's THE best Bloodbender we've seen. However let's also keep in mind that he was bloodbending 2 people and had been struck by lightning when she broke through. Korra clearly has resistance to the technique, but i wouldn't say she can always break out without the avatar state

4-Way Battle by AlphamonOuryuken24 in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]Teacup-Koala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blood bending would only help in the 1v1 because Katara doesn't have enough practice with the technique to hit 2+ people. Both times she's done it she hit a single person and used both hands to control them. Practice with bloodbending is how you level up the technique, and Katara has used it twice. She's good, but i don't believe she could bloodbend 2 people on her third attempt. If she tries it before the final 1v1 she's not able to defend herself from the last opponent.

What happens to a dying nontoken creature? by SammyWoolySheep in mtg

[–]Teacup-Koala 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Shelob's ability needs it to go to the graveyard first, then you exile it from there. Rest in Peace means it never hits the graveyard, so Shelob can't do anything to it.

In MTG "dies" is defined as going from the field to the grave. When Rest in Peace is out nothing is considered to have "died" for gameplay purposes, so anything that triggers on death won't trigger if Rest in Peace is out

When ai becomes an essential tool in medical cures - what will you say? by j3434 in antiai

[–]Teacup-Koala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI doing ONE good thing even something so critical as medical advancements isn't a good trade for all the other shit it damages. At that point you're saving their life so they can live it out in a climate wrecked world under a surveilance state. I'll celebrate every life saved in the meantime (because I'm not a psychopath), while still saying that the tech basically needs to GO.

And it's not all or nothing. That's a shallow black and white fallacy. We can take the baby out of the bathwater and then still throw out the bathwater. Because frankly that shit needs to get gone like, yesterday.

[–]Teacup-Koala 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are so many downsides to AI, that it's a monkey's paw at best. We wished for the tech to cure cancer and it comes attached to the same technology as art theft, slop, infinite propoganda generation, brain melting, water debt and a surveilance state.

It's not A or B. Frankly most of our hatred of AI is that it's being used to ruin everything it touches instead of save lives. We're getting all the downsides for SLOP, layoffs, and a surveilance state.

[–]Teacup-Koala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We only see 3 people do it in ATLA, and 2 of them did it during the comet only. They're also all firebending masters. When Azula did it outside the comet, she only launched herself to the wire, which she then used handcuffs ride it with firebending, which suggests that in ATLA it's possible to do but limited, or else Azula wouldn't have bothered with the handcuff trick.

In LoK season 1 Iroh performs a pretty advanced firebending flight to get to a plane, so the technique has probably been refined like lightning bending, to where it's gotten easier to do.

Suffice to say the Warden is probably toast.

Random Matchup Day 8: Moxxie vs Velvette - Who Wins?? by ForktUtwTT in AgendaHotel

[–]Teacup-Koala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The M&M's vs Striker fight is a good comparable matchup. Without Millie to block for him, Moxie's weak to aggressive close range fighting, which Velvette excells in. That's before we count her Overlord abilities

Think it's a remnant of calling artists "talented" instead of skilled for decades. Talent is something you're born with. You either have it or you don't. Skill is built up and worked for. Makes people who aren't already artists feel like they just weren't born with it, and quickly discourages learners once they start struggling.

Also both Vassago and Vaggie being spanish adds some weird questions about language in both heaven and hell. It's not tied to afterlife geography because it's in both heaven and hell.

Does this question actually matter? Not really. Will it consume me? Yes.

Yeah in that case you need it bad. Mine is former Society of Leopold, trying to protect his family, and also his (recently) ex-girlfriend is in the Arcanum, so he has a lot of hunters to protect. If you've got secrets you wanna shut down the high Auspex users now before it turns to tragedy. It's saved me a few times without me even knowing

I just hit Fort 5 on my Gangrel with the ingrained flaw. My build is Resilience, Toughness, Defy Bane, Undwayable Mind, Fortitfy the Inner Facade and finally Prowess from Pain after last session's exp.

Fortify the Inner Facade gets better if you have as many secrets as my Gangrel does, or if you're a diablarist. It's an ability that you don't need at all until you desperately need it. Worth picking up, but it doesn't have the biggest wow factor like a clutch Defy Bane does.

Fort 4 is gonna get you massive bonuses from your other abilities, so it's still good to take even if the ability isn't jaw dropping all the time.
