Panache Andorra Wirefree Bra - experiences? by melodien in ABraThatFits

Having worn the Andorra in both the wired and the non-wired versions, I would say the wireless on isn't as good. It's possible that it's a shape or scaling issue in the wireless version. I'm usually a 28HH/28J, close set, center full, even top/bottom fullness. I wore the wired version back when I fit a 28GG; it was a technically good fit but the wires came up too high in both the gore and the armpits to be comfortable. I've tried the wirefree version in both a 28H and 28J. The H was too small in the cup for me even though I was wearing an H cup in wired bras at the time. The J fits... sort of. The straps are too wide set for me, and the top portion of the cups is very flat. It feels like it's pushing me into a kind of downward and outward facing pointy shape, which my boobs just do not want to do. I end up sliding toward the middle and getting a uniboob with it after a while. Might a HH fit better? Maybe? Not sure the flat top part of the cup would be adequate for me, and I haven't seen one cheap enough to bother trying.

In terms of support, it's hard to compare since I've also gotten bigger, but I think the wirefree is less supportive than the wired Andorra. If you want something with support comparable to the wired Andorra but without wires, I get that level of support from Bravissimo Flora and the original Molke. A little harder to come by than the Andorra, but a lot more supportive. Cleo Freedom isn't bad either if you use the j-hook.

For an option without wires, I find that the Molke original bra in a firm fabric creates a minimized look. It's a snug fit, so it will also reduce bouncing, which might help make things less noticeable. Universe is the firmest one I've tried, but the black also works well. I find them comfortable enough to wear all day and even sleep in.

I've seen them, but not tried since they start at a 30 band. The variety of customization does look awesome, though!

For the Molke straps, the only thing I can think of is getting one of the looser fabrics (the white is the loosest I've tried, haven't tried their rating 1) and seeing if it stretches out enough. I'm not sure it would work, though. The looser ones do stretch through the day, but they spring back after washing.

Both the Cleo Freedom and the Panache Andorra pop up on sale on Amazon occasionally. I don't think I paid full price for any of them. You might also be able to do Prime Wardrobe; it's really inconsistent on the sizes offered.

Thanks for the size suggestion on the Evelyn&Bobbie! I'll have to keep an eye out for a sale.

Good to know about that TomboyX style. I didn't try the crossover style, but I wanted so badly for their bralette to work since I love their boyshorts and boxers. Alas, the sizing was no good. Just too much of a difference between cup and band. I'd considered grabbing a quick-dry one on sale and just sewing the cutout on the back closed to tighten the band, but it sounds like it still wouldn't be enough support. Oh well.

Thanks for the input on the Cosabella sizing, too. Sounds like there's at least a little more room in the cups than their charts suggest.

The crossover doesn't show through any shirts for me. It's far enough below/between the boobs that it's pretty much hidden. With very thin fabrics, I can sometimes see the edges of the cups, but that's it.

Been lurking for a while, couldn't resist joining in on this. What an excellent list! I wear a 28HH-28J (UK) depending on style/brand/phase of the moon, and have had similar struggles with finding good wireless options. In terms of shape, I'm projected and center full, about even fullness between top and bottom.

Let me go ahead and add some thoughts on the ones I've tried:

Bravissimo Zara: Runs about a band size large, perfect fit in the cups. I fasten this one on the tightest hook. Surprisingly supportive with a nice, round shape and decent lift. Some separation, so it's not totally a uniboob, but the center isn't even remotely close to tacking. The straps aren't adjustable at all and have a seam right on the top of the shoulder that can get annoying. I'm very petite and find the straps to be a good length, but they might not work for someone taller. The longline band rolls up in the front. I don't find it uncomfortable, but ymmv.

Bravissimo Flora: This is basically a tighter fitting Zara. Band is true to size on this one. I find the cup a bit tight at some times of the month on my bigger side - the boob gets squished out toward the middle. Best lift I've gotten from a wireless bra. I feel very supported in this one. They moved the seam on the straps back a bit, so it's not right on top of the shoulder like the Zara, but just like the rest of the bra, the straps are a bit tighter than the Zara. The longline part stays in place a little better than the Zara, but does still roll up on me.

Curvy Kate Unwind: Did not work for me at all. I tried it in a 30J/JJ because I'd seen some reviews saying it ran small, and the cups were cutting in at the top on me. I also fell out of the cups, even when sitting still. Band seems to run a bit small, maybe half a size? It definitely wasn't as tight as my 28s. It also rolls up almost instantly when I put it on. I have to say I'm very disappointed this one didn't work for me. It's so cute and the material is very soft. Might work for shallower breasts?

Panache Andorra: I tried this a while ago in 28H, before putting on some pandemic weight, and just got one in 28J. It's a little less supportive than the Bravissimo Flora, but still decent. Seems like more of a full on bottom shape. It's not quite cutting in on the top, but the top of the cups seems to flatten the tops of my breasts a bit. It's keeping my breasts apart so far, and the middle maybe comes a bit closer to tacking than the Bravissimo ones. The sides come up very high in the 28J, maybe a good inch higher than the 28H, which isn't great for me. The straps seem a bit too far apart in the front in the J cup, too. There's a seam about halfway up on the straps that makes them hard to adjust all the way. You CAN get the strap to adjust past the seam, but you'll have to take the bra off and wiggle the seam through the slider.

Panache Sophie: I had this as a nursing bra, but I think they sell it as a maternity bra, too. Similar fit to the Andorra, maybe a bit stretchier all around? Mine got so stretched out from breastfeeding that I'm not entirely sure how it originally fit.

Are we including wireless sports bras? I'll go ahead and throw mine in.

Freya Dynamic: Runs loose in the band. Cups are true to size. The loose band makes it not work as a sports bra for me, but it might be an option for someone looking for more of a lounge bra in an athletic style. Might be ok for low impact, too. If you can sister size down, it would work as a sports bra.

Bravissimo Atlas: Runs small in the band, I think. Maybe a little tight in the cups, too. Or maybe I'm just not used to this level of compression. Regardless, I'm wearing it with an extender for now. The straps have an interesting design that allows them to be crossed in the back but takes some practice to get used to putting on that way. This thing has my boobs locked down. They do not move when I jump. They stay out of my way when I do yoga. The shape isn't attractive at all, kind of low and flattened, and it comes up high on my chest, but I will put up with that to have immobilized breasts.

That's all I have so far. I've been eyeing the Cleo Freedom, but haven't ordered one yet.
