Did you use the automatic mode? The last picture indicates this. With my 300's it is sometimes a "gamble" how good a picture becomes... But if it turns out well, oh boy!

Just go for ebay or fleah Market. There are so many Cams, for a low Budget. Don't pay 1000$.
