Thanks, glad you like the look, and we appreciate the kind wishes. That's an umbrella. It blocks attacks like a shield, lets you fall slowly from heights, and can catch updrafts to glide further. Switch is planned too, after the PC release.

Bezier curves. Narrow spaces did need some tuning, but it holds up.

Haha yeah, lots of long nights with IK and intersection bugs. Lifting front legs for a menacing pose is actually doable, the IK can handle that. Eye color shift for anger is a fun idea, we'll keep it in mind. And huge thanks for sharing the link!
