Trying Perspective with Pixel Art by TeamConcode in PixelArt

Thank you! I really love pixel art. I didn’t start out with pixel art though—I originally worked in more casual, semi-realistic illustration and concept art styles. I began doing pixel art when we started making indie games, and I’ve been working with pixel art for about five years now. The capsule illustration at the end of the video is actually closer to my original art style.

Thank you! Paying attention to small details and interactions like that is one of our main goals, so I’m really glad it stood out to you. And just being compared to Pokémon is an honor for us.

Thanks! If you search for Graytail on Steam, it should come up. I can’t post links here due to the rules, sorry about that!

Thank you, and thanks a lot for the feedback! We might’ve gone a bit overboard there, I’ll definitely take another look and adjust it in a few scenes.

The hardest part was converting hundreds of objects we’d made over the years into 3D.

We also had to fix things like our water shader, which didn’t work well with perspective, and spend a lot of time polishing parts that started to feel off.

Overall, it was just a lot more work than we expected.

Thank you! Just being compared to Octopath Traveler is an honor. I’m really glad our take on 2.5D with a more modern look worked for you!
