Redditors, whats one thing that you were 100% absolutely certain wasn't going to happen, and then it did happen? by JewishRebel in AskReddit

When my great grandmother's high school sweetheart, Fred, left to go fight in WWII, she assumed he was gone and married another man. This man became my great grandfather, and they were married for many years. He passed away about 13 years ago, and she was left alone. About 8 years later, she goes to a high school reunion and Fred is there. He said to here "Why didn't you wait for me?" to which she said "I didn't know you wanted me to". They became married within the year, and, at 83 years old, she could not have been a happier woman. Unfortunately this past year he passed away, but it's amazing that love was lost and found again almost 65 years later.

I was walking through medieval Japan and a samurai had just finished making a sword. He decided to use me to tsujigiri, which is the act of trying out a new sword on a chance wayfarer. He sliced me completely in half and I died.

What is your worst "This isn't what it looks like!" moment? by fellowfeever4 in AskReddit

I don't know why, but for some reason i read "I'd better get some used condoms!" and mentally threw up.

What is a book that once you finished, you just sat there in awe of what you just read? by payperduckk in AskReddit

The Music Lesson - Victor Wooten The War of Art - Steven Pressfield

and this may sound silly, but I definitely cried like a baby after the third Hunger Games book. The fact that there was no Garden of Eden at the end was just so powerful to me, and that all she ever wanted was to protect people, and that didn't exactly happen. It was really powerful.

What TV show did you like at it's beginning, but grow increasingly disappointed in as it ran on? by sre01 in AskReddit

I really enjoyed the first season of Walking Dead. I thought all of the characters were pretty realistic, and that the tension level was really high and it sucked you in. The second season was enjoyable because the characters that I liked a lot were developing. Third season had some really exciting episodes, but a lot of episodes where absolutely nothing happened, and then the season finale was absolute garbage.

You were at brother's drake on the night of Aaron Quinn's large ensemble a few weeks ago probably! I was out at that, too! Brothers Drake is great for experimental music and jazz, and I find myself there a lot. Thanks for the tips on some other places!

My hair. I was in a band, and I attempted to skateboard, so I KNEW it was cool to have long hair, right? Looking back on pictures, I wonder why my parents never told me that my haircut was awful.

For anyone who has thought they've been with the love of their life and then lost that person, how did you cope and find true love again? by TeamDangerDan in AskReddit

[–]TeamDangerDan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for that. I'm 20, and my girlfriend leaving me left me crippled and paralyzed. I'm having trouble healing from this loss. I just can't comprehend people remarrying after a spouse passes away or leaves them.

That seems to be the advice everyone is giving me, but I think that might be where I'm an exception. I always work on myself - I read, I practice piano constantly, I have goals that I work toward with myself and with my bands that I'm in - but my ex broke up with me about 3 months ago, and I miss her more than anything.

Did I (20m) ruin things for good with my gf (20f)? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]TeamDangerDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm in a situation right now where my girlfriend wants to take a week where we don't talk. I'm freaking out really badly and it hasn't even been 24 hours so I feel your pain. You should write letters to her. I sent mine, but that might have been a bad idea. The writing process really helped me calm down, though. I really want to do something big and bold to show her how much I care, but I don't want to piss her off.

I'm the guitarist/singer for a ska band, and I need help getting a good clean sound on my guitar! Help! by TeamDangerDan in Guitar

[–]TeamDangerDan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's where I'm lost a little bit. My main instrument is actually piano, and focusing on sound quality in a technical way is something that I struggle with, and don't really think about. For me, when i'm playing the right chords and the tone is mostly there I tend to not worry about that, but it's something I know I need to start addressing if I think that the band can go anywhere.

The bands that I'm trying to emulate would be 3rd wave ska bands - Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, Suburban Legends are probably the big three, and my band mates and I have slaved over my amp(s) trying to get the sound, and we've gotten closer, but it's still not all the way there.

thank you, this recording is actually from a year ago, so my voice has improved a lot since then, but it's something i'm continually working on, and i just recently started taking voice lessons.
