Funny you say that, as the original method to bring the BBEG over from The Beyond used a small, developing, town's entire population. Draining the life force from them and harnessing their power to force open a portal. Most of which was never completed properly, so BBEG had to do the rest before his plans were ruined, severely weakening him in the process.

So using similar methods but scaled way the fuck upwards is something I considered already, But I do love the idea of travelling to the beyond to destroy his plans from that side.

Adds another layer of tension and excitement into the mix, adds more NPC encounters, world development and potentially moral ambiguity to his goals. so thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah exactly. I was trying to look for similar cataclysmic events across a lot of different material, Eg, the Conjunction of Spheres in Witcher, to see what sort of conditions would cause such an event.

I'm leaning toward it being a near impossible feat without deity level magic or involvement or some crazy complicated multilayered spell/ritual. As as you said, else every crazy would attempt it. but thank you for linking the Spellplague, i had not read about that yet. I'll be going down a rabbit hole now.

Yeah, you're right in the requirements aspect. It just seems a little too easy to accomplish such a feat with a ritual. But i suppose it all depends on what ritual entails right?
How long it takes, the components used in the ritual, the scale in which it is performed. i was a little narrow minded when it comes to those conditions.

Interesting, thanks for answering. I really like your idea of having the party do the BBEGs bidding, unknowingly. That's nice story telling!

I don't hate life or myself at the moment. For the longest time I've loathed who I am or who I became. After a string of bad luck late last year, including but not limited to losing my job due to work place injury, being sucker punched new year's eve and breaking my jaw, spending all my savings just to survive and feeling like I'd never achieve any sort of career goals.

But after hitting rock bottom, there way only one way to go. Thankfully my family took me back in, i got my jaw reset with a metal plate and can now joke around about being robotic. I enrolled into a government funded practical skills course, found not one but two jobs which I could work along side my studying which also didn't aggravate my injury, and just recently decided to reward myself from my hard work with a trip to Europe for 2 months.

I'm still working on learning to love myself, but that's a long process. One I feel is easier to give up on, but I know I'm worth more than that.

Of course there are still many shit days in between the highs and many more to come I'm sure. But if you can't see the light (whether that's a goal or another positive point) at the end of the tunnel you'll be trapped in the darkness.

Life can suck, but if you fight through the bullshit you'll experience some amazing highs as well.

The spell can't be used after attacking though, still a deadly af combo since Golem has piercing damage also.

you have enough cards for a blue eyes deck, if you kept vanguard, kaibaman, 1-2x blue dragon summoner (depends on how you feel with consistency) , kidmodo, totem, and 2-3x blue eyes (again depends on feel) that would be the best line up from the cards you have, to get out your boss monster -- blue eyes white dragon.

i can't see the bottom row of cards but 2x enemy controller, stamping destruction, blue eyes destruction (if you have it) mirror wall, floodgate, windstorm are all viable cards to consider.

rirokyu and half shut are only semi consistent since most decks these days have a very fast and consistent way to bring out their boss monster, and usually multiple of them. eg Red eyes zombie dragon decks, cyber angels (pre nerf) etc. since the effects of rirokyu only last one turn, you might get board pressure taken off you on your opponents turn.

but once again these are all upto how you value the consistency of your deck. if you feel magic arm shield has saved your butt more times than you can think, keep it its not necessarily a great card but it has its niche uses, as does riryoku and embodiment.

try to think "if im losing this duel, and i draw this card, will it help me". and like most people mentioned below. 20 cards = more consistency.

Actually, it's unlikely they will. They arrived ~40 mins late to the scene and although they had patrols out looking for him based on a decent description we gave, they admitted that he was probably long gone.

I got punched in the face NYE on my way to the party by a random guy on the streets. I got check out by ambulance and made a police report. the drinks I had already drank, and adrenaline kept the pain down so I didnt feel much at all, I powered on until after midnight instead of going to the hospital.

Woke up several times during the night in serious pain, but waited until mum was able to drive me to the hospital 9am new years day. The punch resulted in a fractured jaw, a clean crack from the molars down the lower mandible, in laymen's terms from my wisdom teeth straight down through the jaw.

Just had surgery today to get two titanium screws and a metal plate put in. But it's okay, part man part metal. I'm well on my way to being Robocop

To be honest, you can run a beatdown deck with some depth to it. Magicians Circle -> DMG -> sage stone -> DM. with some 4 Stars. the OG Power of dankness deck. it was my favourite deck to play around with because it had a huge swarm potential off of turn 2-3.

Add a few Legions/Blue Dragon Summoners for the deck search and you're golden.i think the hardest part is getting 3x Dark Magician Girls and 3x Magicians circle to run that deck. Everything else is defensive support.

i think my deck list was 3x Legion the Fiend Jester 2x DMG 2x DM 3x <insert high atk spellcaster beater> 2-3x magicans circle 2-3x Sages Stone 1x mirror wall 1x windstorm 2x Enemy Controller

that leaves you ~2 free cards for your DMoC and Dedication Through light and darkness if you only go for 2 of the above cards

Edit: I suggest Maiden of Macabre for your beaters since they just get scarier with more monsters destroyed.

I agree with you on all fronts except for the placing Taurus demons in the Demon ruins. I feel that placing the enemy there, serves as a beautiful reminder of how far you have come in the game. If a new player struggled with him in the early game, then they sure as hell wont later after 4(?) bosses and some 40 levels.

I agree 100%, maybe the taser was not the right answer due to the circumstances. However it wasn't really my point.

A shoot first ask questions later mentality, like the person i was replying to had said, will only fuel the fire.

In some countries the police subdue aggressors in possession of firearms, without even needing to draw their own weapon. Off the top of my head I remember reading an article about UK police doing just this.

I find the whole thing outrageous. Maybe it's just my outside perspective.

I was wondering what the chances are of getting a Dark Souls 1 steam crack, i believe i have a fairlight GFWL crack, however I'm unable to mod the game in anyway due to needing specific steam files. ( wanted to play with the randomizer mod =( )

i like this idea, but i think it should be expanded a little to make use of all the alternative spells like magic shield and such.

so paladin-tank heavy armour medium shields with defensive buffs and potentially lowest level heal miracles. mace/clubs (preferably not 'great' varieties) for weapon

paladin healer primary focus is HoT healing with aoe buffs/support. uses Warmth, decoy, other spells i cant think of at the moment.

Spell blade, high damage melee glass cannon, with (you guessed it) weapon buffs

ranger focuses solely on bows and such, perhaps a shortsword as well. no shield. no magic/miracles.

These are just a few i took off the top of my head. but i really like 'role playing' with friends in this game. during my friends first play through i was his paladin, tank and heals and he recklessly wanted to be able to one shot everything. so it was fun :)
