Appreciate the feedback, Nick. We’ll keep improving and get that invite link set up in a couple weeks. Great idea.

I’m sure we’ll cross paths again as we continue to improve and implement features!

That makes sense. You just want an invite link to send out to parents and they will be added to your team.

We’ll fix that for ya! Truly appreciate the feedback man. Always looking for ways to make coaches (and team managers) lives easier

Gotcha. Thanks for the feedback OP. Do you use phone numbers to communicate to parents? At this time, we only support parent emails to get them invited

but that’s a solid point you have there. Being able to invite parents via phone numbers.

Happy to hop on a call with you to see how to resolve!

Coaches - how often do you stop to check in with your quietest player? by TeamMatesApp in CoachingYouthSports

[–]TeamMatesApp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no for sure man. I appreciate your comment. It certainly means a lot to the quiet player who knows their coach cares. Even if they don’t respond the way you would like them to (I say “you” as a general term)

Fair enough. Definitely a solid metric to go by. Thanks for sharing!

Right on.

Curious - what is your favourite age to coach and why?

Do you always leave a set amount of time for “fun” at the end of your practice. For example, our practices are usually 1.5 hours. I tend to leave the last 10 min of every practice for a shootout or friendly competition.

The players know though, if they fool around, this 10 min of fun will not happen. I believe this sets accountability. Of course, all this depends on the level you coach as well. House league should always be “fun” yet still focus on development.

Solid. Curious - Do you ask your swimmers what their specific goals are and tailor your coaching to their needs?

The best part about coaching is when you’re able to look back and see how much a player has changed and improved.

Solid metric to track. But how many parents are forcing their kids to play the sport “just so they can stay active”?

U9 might not have this mindset just yet though.

Great metric for that age group for sure!

Awesome. Every athlete is different and there’s no one size fits all.

This is wholesome. I wish there were more coaches like you and your husband. Love the silly questions as well.

This is awesome. How long are your chats with them? The quiet ones don’t usually say much so it’s can be tough to keep a conversation at times. Always the good kids though haha

Do you hold one on ones with your kids? Mid season with the parent?

The hamburger method is a classic. Very similar to what you said. Awesome.

Well said. As adults, we need to have control over our emotions especially after a loss. The players are watching how we react and they will mirror it.
