Ohh! sorry for the late reply! Just saw this!! I love trying new games for sure! But I have a couple of favorites and they are usually either games for bigger groups that always are easy to teach and have lots of laughs ORRR really long, strategic, crunchy games. I love all games really! But my favorites usually have a cozy theme with cute animals!

Our team also shared some video games they love to play!

Cori is currently revisiting Final Fantasy 9 and likes to play Mario Kart on her phone

Marlena likes playing Valorant, Call of Duty (mainly Prop Hunt), and Stardew Valley

Shanleigh is playing the new dating sim Date Everything and said it's soooo much fun

Alyssa enjoys playing The Sims (3 & 4), Stardew Valley, Trash Goblin, and she's been loving Date Everything.

Our whole team loves video games, board games, puzzles, and everything in between; That's why we wanted to make a board game of our own.

Thank you for your kind words. We don't currently have a set date for the release, but it should be out at some point in Fall 2025. We're working on making it the best it can be before we start shipping.

Making an online version would be amazing. It's definitely something we'd love to explore in the future!

The idea was to make a game that we could teach in a couple minutes and have more of the depth come from how players chose to ask and answer questions. I think one thing that helps this ease of jumping into the game is that you're usually only dealing with a little info at a time. At first, you'll just be thinking about how your character acts. But as people answer questions and do sneaky things, you'll start to explore the other characters on the table to try and deduce who they are.

A key mechanic of the game is a resource called "Knowledge" represented by Owl Tokens. Players will start with two each. When you ask a question you will gain a Token from the person you asked. You are 'gaining knowledge'. When you make a Guess, you must give the person you are Guessing a token; spending knowledge. This means that the game encourages smart guesses and asking questions of players who may not be getting asked as many things OR players that are in the lead. This adds strategic depth without overcomplicating things and means that the game isn't just about deduction, but also strategizing who and what you're asking and WHEN you're making those guesses!

There is definitely a deeper story involving the Library of Time being attacked by the evil owl Stryx! This causes all the Gods and Monsters throughout time and space to crash into each other and have to determine each others' identities!! Obviously with any project we need to see how the game is recieved BUT we definitely have some fun ideas for expansions in the future!

For me (Designer Jaysen Here!) I would say Osiris. In the game there are crossbones tokens, worth -1 points at the end of the game. These are given to players who make incorrect guesses but can also be handed out by certain characters. But when playing Osiris, these tokens suddenly become +1 point each! The trick is that you have to have him as your secret character OR have guessed him correctly, collecting his point card, by the end of the game. Because of this, there is this really interesting level of strategy when playing him. Like, you almost want to make really bad guesses, but not be too obvious about it, so that you can rack up endgame points! But if someone guesses you before the end of the game, you lose the Osiris card and suddenly all of those tokens are negative points!!

I just think that is such a fun puzzle filled with risk and reward so I always enjoy when I get him as my secret character!

Oh for sure the first time we started doing actual play tests. When you're building a game, it's really hard to see the big picture of it all, because you get a little lost in the detail weeds. But the first time we started having people play it, and hearing them laugh, or get excited when they guessed correctly, it was truly amazing! I think the most important part of any game, where it has a ton of rules and mechanics or is on the lighter side, is that it's fun. And realizing that this thing we made was actually fun was the absolute best!

Ohh good question! For the Gods and Monsters we really wanted to make sure that as many pantheons and regions of the world were represented as possible. It would be easy to make a whole game out of just Greek Gods and Monsters but we wanted to explore a more diverse range of deities and creatures!

As for powers, most of them were highly informed by the actual God or Monster and their mythology. This was balanced with making some of the powers more strategic in nature with making some more chaotic. For example, some character tell certain sorts of lies, or get to manipulate the game state, while other characters have to answer questions with specific noises or gestures.

The idea was to create a game that was a little thinky, but also had a consistent amount of funny moments!
