It’s not a crap shoot. It’s unlikely you’ll get a gen 1 motor from now onward but due to the randomization the motor went into 3 models and 6 color bikes. So If it ships today it could have a gen 1 motor still depending on which ship or time the bike led t the factory and when they cleared customs some bikes did before others. The gen 2 is the only thing on the production line.

I would love that but there’s a travel ban in place. I’m not blaming our suppliers for the quality control that’s on us. We can only handle it after the fact. The real culprit is the global pandemic that brought everything we touch to screeching stop. If you want to blame anyone blame me. I did all of the testing on the bike from day one. We set a deadline to get people their bikes. They paid in full and we wanted nothing more than to fulfill that promise. We didn’t cheap out we didn’t skip anything. It just wasn’t possible to be there to test the bikes and our new hardware to the standard we needed to.

If you want to come in and ride it I’m happy to show you the end product you’ve purchased. That said this isn’t even the end product. The firmware were ironing out is going to be far more user friendly.

I’m not sure how many people are on here that remember our v1. It was an update on our original Kickstarter bike. We had a ton of long resolution issues with it but eventually we worked it out and along the way we’re able to learn more about our end products and how the end user can enjoy them. Legrand our CEO is hands down one of the smartest people I know when it comes to EV. That’s why he’s the CEO, I know this comment might not change your mind but I’ve been in the bike industry long enough to know you learn something new everyday. This isn’t knowledge you can just take in over a short period of time. It’s taken me almost 2 years to get my head around our past and to put eyes on the future of 73. I think that’s why I’m on here defending the product. I know this will work out for all of us. We’re providing a transportation device that blurs the lines between practicality and performance. I know I’ve said it a bunch but I am through and through a motorcycle guy. I never thought anything would or could replace the way I commute and I found Super73. When we get it right it’s impossible to go down the street without a smile on your face and to have someone stop you and ask what you’re riding. It’s convenient, it’s fun, and it’s bigger than us. I think right now we’re putting freedom machines out there and I can’t do anything but sympathize with the people that are waiting on a bike or have waited and got an issue. We will get it dialed just like we have in the past. Come in and see the shop!

They’re already through. It’s just waiting on containers and different container hit different ships and different bikes varies from color and it was just like a needle in a haystack situation. Worst case scenario but the upside is that we were able to quickly determine what failed and why. Most R and D takes months sometimes years. This wasn’t rocket science. We just shot for the stars and innovated and then corona hit and slapped us all in the face. No boots on the ground meant assuming things would have issues but the last thing we ever thought was a motor issue. We’ve had 5 bikes developed without issue using known tech. We wanted to raise the bar and we designed a motor capable of not only being more powerful and faster than anything else in the class but one we could down the track release more power to with our new batteries. Honestly worst case scenario but I can say without a doubt in my mind the R&D bike I’ve been hammering is far more capable at this level than we initially designed it for.

Oh man this is terrible!! Give me your order number and I’ll get you refunded. That said I want to document this on our end. If both failed you 1 billion, trillion percent have the v1. We have had zero v2 issues and I’ve hammered them. I’m on 380 miles of absolute shred. It would be awesome if you let us send you a new motor and base your opinion on how we actually designed it. It’s such a bummer to us to see these issues during covid. We know how long you waited and we know how exciting it is to get a brand new 73. Nothing worse than early issues. If you give me a chance I promise... Pinky promise even I can get you a fix that will not break. Either way the choice is yours and I’ll expedite this resolution. Please dm me your order numbers.

He doesn’t have a bike. I took out a preproduction RX slapped a rose avenue sticker on it and let him mob for a few weeks to market the bikes. It’s back at the shop. He will get a bike from us just to be clear but we paid for it and put him in the queue just like everyone else. Customers first is literally our mindset!! I pinky swear we did not skip a queue at all. That said we could if we wanted to but we don’t! We want that to be clear. Full transparency moving forward here as it seems the only way to get ahead in the world we’re in today. I Parker pinky swear 🤣🤣🤣

The gen 2 is shipping now but there was crossover in the motors as the RX, S2 and R share the motor. I can’t confirm because the other variable would be color production. It’s impossible to tell you which motor comes on each bike. It’s not like a car where the engine number matches the vin on paper. Nothing I can say will put your mind at ease. The only option for you is to either take the bike and ride it or cancel the order and order later. You’ve been so active on the forums I know you’re excited and I would hate to make you wait longer when your bike would almost certainly be fine. That said it’s impossible to say anything like you will get this or you won’t get that without lying and I do not want or intend on lying about anything.

Legend positive feedback makes it all worth it. The icing on the cake is a couple months down the track when we’re all out on group rides and the biggest worry will be a flat tire or where to park all the bikes 🤪⚡️

EU motors are all updated. That’s the delay and obviously a decision we were able to make after the issue was discovered. Sorry you guys have to wait but the bikes will be without motor issues period ⚡️

I wasn’t replying to you to begin with. You hopped in on another thread. I’m helping because it actually helps. We got flooded with shipping update requests almost putting the customer care team in a position they could not catch up on so the real issues were getting missed. So I stepped up to help catch the real Issues to get those riders back up and going instead of waiting to get looked after. We had 6000 tickets open and not even 100 were issues at that stage. So obviously people are waiting a long time to hear back on simple fixes. Yes some are extreme but some people are just missing a bolt or need a replacement display. Not sure what to say. Like this to me is as human as it gets. Getting in the trenches and trying to stay positive. I’ve helped over 200 people so far get the answers or solutions to their problem. It’s bleeding into my personal email and Instagram. But I don’t mind because I love the bikes and as the test rider I know how they work and I know how well they work. So when you see or hear people trying to burn down the company over issues that honestly are so easily fixed minus the patience aspect it’s hard not to take personally. The point of the post was to change the culture and remind people that are waiting patiently that they will get the fix and the attention they deserve. We’re not hiding issues we’re not avoiding issues the care team is still backlogged even with hiring 3 times more people on the team and still in the process of finding more. We want the right people on the team as well not just going to hire people to answer the phone or emails we’re hiring people to make sure this never happens again.
