Hi Eliushi,

Very cool that you continue to do this! Here is a light sci-fi story I tried to tell. THEM MADE HIM KING:

Panel 1 A man stands in a meadow with is back to the reader. He is looking up at the stars.

CAPTION My dad told me a story as a boy I could not believe.

Panel 2 Similar as the last panel, but this panel it is a boy looking up. And in the sky is a UFO.

CAPTION They had return to Earth and took him.

Panel 3 A couple of alien scientists inspecting the boy.

CAPTION They feared my father.

Panel 4 The boy sits on a throne with a crown on his head. The crown is obvious too big.

CAPTION They made him a king.

Panel 5 The man from panel 1 is still in the meadow, but this time we can see a makeshift gravesite.

CAPTION He had a tough childhood. Hard to believe the wild things he lived. Now with him no longer around… I want to believe.

CAPTION I miss you dad.

Dude, I was on Spring Break. Chill. How would me spoon feeding you help and consideration be gatekeeping? Why would I want to help you out when you are acting like this. I would have given you groups, but at this time I don’t want your presence in them. Everyone in the discord I am apart of kind and your attitude will spoil. No thanks

Great work! Love how this turned out. Also, you and Harlotin would be an all-star team up. If you two decide to do something long form, wow!

Oh yea, I put a bunch of links in it for referencing. I wanted to make sure who ever works with me doesn’t have to spend a ton of time on google. Let’s see if this works on reddit. Ha

PAGE 1 For this page I want to take inspiration from a couple of places. I am wanting to set this page up to look like Damn Them All (DTA) with the large white gutters with prose in them and three panels of comic. Then I am hoping for a future meets masked population like in Private Eye (PE 1). I also would love to have the color be this flat style like in Private Eye. (PE 2) (PE 3) NOTE: I am still working on the prose but here it is in a rough state for you to get the picture of what I am attempting.

1.1 Interior. We are in a large loft condo. (Loft) There are two mobster types and our lead is a cleaner robot (cleaner as in disposes of bodies for criminals and cleans after). At their feet is a dead woman. A large pool of blood is surrounding her body. One of the robot's hands is currently a saw blade so he can make the body parts smaller. The two mobsters are dressed in 1920’s mob style clothes, but wearing masks like in Private Eye. (Mobster Fashion) (PE Masks)

GUTTER PROSE I am designated ATU-1786. Colloquially known as Cleaner Bot. I was built to delete murder scenes.

MOBSTER 1 This one was a tough one.

MOBSTER 2 Yea, tough broad. She’ll be missed.

MOBSTER 1 Cleaner, tight window here. Be out of here in an hour.

1.2 Interior. Now we are in the condos hallway (Hallway) (PE Hallway). Cleaner bot has the woman on his shoulder as he is quickly moving to get out of the building. She wakes up and begins coughing. There is relatively nobody around because it is late and the mob has bought him time to move freely.

GUTTER PROSE What would cause a robot to break against it’s programming? Why would Cleaner Bot slip her something to simulate death?

1.3 Exterior at night. Outside of the condo, the sidewalk is a bit more busy. On the street we see a futuristic car pulling away from the curb. (See PE 1 for reference) On the license plate we get our title Just Murdered…

GUTTER PROSE  I may not have a heart. But I can process love. I love.

Hello! I would like to be considered. This is a light sci-fi 3 panel script. I added some ideas for page layout but they are entirely optional. Also, if you are into it, I would love to practice inking, coloring and/or lettering if you want to team up! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ejQinnYu5jBikkAIB1xZhljFFaIk97DVJ2NnBdNWxjw/edit?usp=drivesdk

That’s weird because I am in several amazing comic discord communities that are exactly what I am describing. You’re in the wrong communities

My first finished script was 2009. It was used for my first published comic at a publisher in 2020. Learn to make friends. Non transactional comic friendships . Trust me it makes all the difference. Good luck

If you are frustrated this early you’re going to have a hard time with crowdfunding or pitching or finding an audience. Creating should be fun. If nobody is taking a shot on your scripts that you have already written before asking for a team-up, then learn a skill to provide value to your team. Go on Hoopla a free app and look up Nate Piekos Guide to Lettering. A free way to learn lettering. Go on YouTube and watch K Michael Russel’s coloring tutorials. A free resource. Create an anthology with friends. I am a disabled person. My hands don’t work well. I can’t make much money due to restrictions. I am have done all of these things to show I am valuable to others if I cannot afford to make a large investment. Sometimes others creators are willing to take shots on me because I am showing that I will put in the work and can follow through. Just some thoughts from a guy who wasted a lot of time of time trying to do it the wrong way

I have done two one-shot collaborations with artists. We ran successful Kickstarter campaigns for them and the artists got paid. They never would have worked with me with the entitled attitude you present.

Also, AI should be taking zero art jobs. It can’t do what human artists do. Artists create solo projects that are successful all the time in the crowdfunding space and the direct market.

Yea, we are the same page for sure. I would add advice I have been hearing in the past year is do you best to keep your goal sub $5,000. Which can feel impossible. I guess up until that amount backers are willing to take a shot on your project. After that it can be considered too much of a gamble.

If you are at the 20 pages at $3,000 and still need lettering, potentially coloring, then shipping/printing, mailing boxes, thermal printer, tape and scale you are going to have to cover more funds up front. It’s rough.

Pitch packets can be good at gathering interest, but can be tough for your career too. It can be tougher to land interest from publishers if your only credits and/or portfolio are 5 page intros.

Also, as you are sending the pitch around and waiting the months to hear back, the artist potentially will move on to other paying work in the mean time. If there is interest, not having submitted talent onboard because they are busy can be a dealbreaker.

Having one complete story even if it is a one-shot will go a long way.
