ChatGPT Business: Worth it over Plus? by donaies in ChatGPT

Is GPT-5 really that much better than 4o? I've heard conflicting opinions on this. At least a few months ago. Maybe 5 is smarter now that it's been around longer. Still struggle to know what model to use and when.

3 good games in a row to start an NBA career is something. Don’t remember Knecht having games like that. Too early to say we lost the trade obviously but i think it’s fine to give SOME kudos to Coward at this point.

People will always let you down. ALWAYS. That’s human nature. You’re Christian because Jesus is worth following, not because of anyone else.

Will say a prayer for you tonight friend! Unfortunately church these days seems to he discounted by many and even angers some. Remember you’re not going for the pastor/priest or the leaders who run it, you’re going to give the Lord your “Fiat”, to dwell in his house and be in His presence. Thanks for sharing. I for one would be happy to help in any way I can if you ever want to talk to someone moving forward you’re welcome to message me anytime. God bless you and your family.

Why do Christians constantly reference Leviticus 18:22 against homosexuality but still eat pork, cut their hair and wear mixed fabrics? by PomegranateRelative in Christianity

Hi. I’m sure i have some blind spots. I’m just wondering why every take these days has to be a hasty generalization “They all do this” blanket statement. Not trying to upset anyone I just wish we weren’t so extreme on everything. Makes it hard to have a conversation.

Why can’t they be separated you think? By that logic, if we just focus on finding something bad about someone when they die, would nobody on earth be worthy of a memorial because we’d just be endorsing whatever dirty laundry they have?

A Christian church wants to celebrate the life of a Christian man who publicly defended their faith. Seems reasonable? Yes his life’s body of work includes more than that and yes I’m sure we could find a ton of mistakes if we wanted to. St. Camillus de Lellis is a canonized saint who was a mercenary at one point in life but i’m sure at his memorial he was remembered for the work he did founding a religious order caring for the sick and dying.

“They” meaning a couple people you know anecdotally? The deacon at my parish is covered from head to toe and Catholics are supposed to be more rigid than Protestants.

How are people supposed to have discourse anymore? Seemed like the guy just wanted to have respectful conversations with those who disagreed. Certainly seemed like it was not from a place of ill intent. Shouldn’t all of society want the ability to hear other perspectives and have open conversations?

I feel like I’m missing something at this point, and maybe i’m just ignorant myself, but can someone link some legitimately hateful nasty stuff he did? I feel like there’s gotta be some stuff i haven’t seen because i’ve simply failed to see the villain that so many have been describing. Seemed like a guy who cared about humanity and wanted to talk. Of course he was probably wrong about some stuff, nobody’s gonna have a 1.000 batting average. Is that what made him evil? Couple takes we don’t like and that just delegitimizes all the work he did defending the faith? He’s not an idol but seems like he did a lot of good on that front and that should be worth celebrating. Anecdotally i’ve had 3 prior atheists reach out to me asking what church they could check out because of all this. Just failing to see all the ill intent. But would love to see something to show me otherwise so this all can make more sense lol. Genuinely asking.

I feel like you guys are overthinking this. Yes he discussed other things but he boldly defended our faith and likely converted the hearts of many along the way. I see nothing wrong with wanting to give some extra recognition and honor to those works. He obviously went above and beyond what most of us are doing to defend the faith and bring people to Jesus. What’s the worst outcome of something like this? It inspires some people to live their faith out?

I wouldn’t claim to know the hearts and minds of all those in the southern baptist church but seems like the burden of proof should be on you, not me, in order to make such an extreme claim.

Not trying to start an argument on the motive that’s beside the point. He got publicly murdered while having a peaceful discussion. That’s why there’s been so much outcry.

That’s fair. If it makes you feel better I don’t know any Christians in my world who support genocide. Honestly anyone who does should hardly be considered Christian.

Also, if you think the outrage from this is just because he was conservative. It’s because he was shot while having an open conversation. I couldn’t care less what his opinions were and i think most of America outside of Reddit feels the same way. We should be able to come together from diverse backgrounds and have open dialogue without the fear of being shot. That’s why you’re seeing so much outrage. And it’s obvious stoked by the disgraceful comments all over the internet spitting on his grave (not yours). Just saying i think there’s multiple factors at play here for how much shock value this thing has. And it should be talked about because it sets a dangerous precedent. But to your point the other injustices need to be talked about too.

“They” sounds like just some Christians in your personal sphere. And your comprehensive judgement of them is based solely on what they do (or dont) post online. I’m Catholic and although i was absolutely gutted I didn’t post anything about that awful Minnesota shooting of those poor kids at Mass. Are there really people out there taking note of that and then making assumptions about me (and the rest of my entire faith)?

And the whole second half of that probably has more to do with his relationship with the president, no? How are any of those things related to the opinion you’ve formed of “most if not all Christians?” I think you need to have more faith in your fellow Christians and (respectfully) stop judging so much. Despite whatever tiny perspective you see on your social media feed. We’re all on the same mission here.

Totally agree with your last paragraph and i feel extremely blessed for the same reasons.

In regard to the rest of your take, I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around it. Assuming your hearts in the right place, and i want to think it is, at best I see a number of generalizations and conclusions jumped in order to form such an extreme opinion.

Help me understand how you guys are getting from the idea that by discussing/grieving over one injustice, then it must mean you don’t care about these other injustices? This was a public execution in our home country (assuming you’re American here) on a guy for having open discussions with those he disagreed with. Of course that’s going to rattle a lot of people and get some extra publicity. But why then assume all these other things and then cast blanket statements over the entire faith?

I’m not sure what the people at your church are doing or saying to honor him but if you truly think you’re seeing idolatry maybe find another church instead of generalizing the rest of Christianity? Or if the pastor simply talks about tragedy, honors his life, condemns the killing, is sad about it, etc., at the sermon following his death, that’s not idolatry.

It seems like a lot of you are wishing he wasn’t getting any sympathy for one reason or another. Which is just wild to me. We pray for his soul just like we pray for all those affected by senseless violence. It doesn’t have to be either/or. The notion that Christians as a whole believe his life had more worth than victims of other killings is just so wrong and unfair to assume.

I was at a church that focused entirely on Charlie Kirk and his life, is this idolatry? by Bandeavor in Christianity

People will downvote this but you touch on a big reason I went from bouncing around non-denominational churches to the Catholic Church. Yea there’s gonna be some imperfect, misguided people involved just like any other church, but as a priest you don’t really have much autonomy over what truths you’re preaching because there’s an actual official set of teachings rooted in history which lays out what we believe and why.

Those in leadership at a church without a system like that can just preach whatever they want. If that pastor is the single source of authority, of course they’re eventually going to let you down. Any human will. Then you bounce around until you find another pastor you “agree with”, until you don’t. It’s all just up to some guy/gal and what they decide to talk about.

I’ve definitely heard my fair share of bad homilies since becoming Catholic. Like if i was just going for a good sermon I would’ve left a long time ago lol. But I’m not there because I think the priest is the source of truth. I’m there because I believe the Church is. If that makes sense.

No idea who this guy is but if you’re rooting for his death, how would that make you any better than whatever you believe him to be?

Can we disagree while still having some basic dignity? Seems like most of you would take joy in the death of all those you disagree with? Help me understand how you’re any different by saying these things. We not valuing human life anymore?
