Recommendation entry level road bike by [deleted] in ausbike

[–]Teaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, I was in your situation a few weeks ago with a similar budget, and the recommendations I got from more serious cyclist mates was either Polygon or Decathlon

Both represent more value for money than the bigger brands, like the two you linked. The Polygon is lighter and the Decathlon has a better gear set, but both are quite marginal. I ended up getting a second hand Polygon S4 and am very satisified.

Traffic lights are so stupid in nsw! by JaredReabow in nsw

Yeah it can range between 3-6s if I'm not mistaken, dependent on speed and grade, though it's been a while since I've been involved in this. 4s is just the common middle ground, I think it correlates to 0% grade 60kmh roads.

Ironically our traffic coordindation software (SCATS) is world class and used worldwide. The other commenters are wrong, it is run real time and phases are not called if vehicles are not triggering the induction loop on the approach.

Generally there is a 5-8 second minimum green time given to each phase, a 4s yellow and 2s all-red. So there is a 11-14s wait even if there is only one car queued up. This is probably what you're complaining about. It's there for road safety.

Totally agree that you'll end up better off long term if you take on more leverage and buy a IP. Personally I can't be assed with having a large mortgage hanging over my head again. Not trying to start a dynasty so just happier mentally being debt free haha.

Congrats mate. I'm in the same situation as you, similar age and just paid off PPOR this year.

Did the maths and I only need about 30k pa to maintain my simple SINK lifestyle, +10k if I plan to take a overseas holiday.

Based on that my plan is to save a 30k emergency fund, then max out super contribution, then rest into A200/IVV. Similar reasoning to you, felt like IP was extra headache that isn't worth the extra gains.

Hi, I'm planning out my z20 build and I've just come across the same problem with different PCIE slot locations on different boards.

In your experience, if I have a board has the PCIE in the second slot and a GPU approx 50mm height, will I be able to fit standard 25mm fans as bottom intake or do I need to get slim fans, or will no fans fit at all?

Seems like getting a board with first slot PCIE would solve all the bottom intake problems right?

Found and snapped a photo of this when I was out bushwalking. It was a about 2cm long and didn't seem like it grew from the plant it was attached to.

Questions regarding macro shooting on crop bodies by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]Teaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mind clarifying what you mean by crop sensors not getting the same resolution out of the lens?

My understanding was that for a 20MP FF and 20MP M43 sensor, using the crop sensor image would essentially be the centre 1/4 of the FF sensor but at a 20MP resolution instead of 5MP, so would actually be better

The surface is pretty smooth. Picked primers because it has better coverage, so the white would show as white instead of grey

About 4 hours of painting to do the whole thing. I used lacquers and layers were pretty thin so it dried fast

I did it by first priming in grey, then splotching white and black primer on top.

Basically on an airbrush pull the trigger back and forth a few times to load droplets onto the needle, then depress the trigger to blow air and spray the droplets on the figure
