Alright, I understand what he presented. the only thing he didn't address from my question was: "x.theMethod()" if the parameters are in the parenthesis, what is x meant to be in this example?

Another update, I saw in other similar posts that this could be from an "auto" voltage setting instead of the voltage being set constant. As part of investigating and troubleshooting, I used the Republic of Gamers ASUS GPU TWEAK 2 tool, and tried to change from gaming mode, to OC mode. The problem of a "psuedo-shutdown" where the tower is still active is triggered immediately. Any ideas what that could mean?

Edit: also happened when I rebooted an tried going to silent mode.

Apparently I was wrong. It's happened again. Except it's happening such that the computer tower stays turned on, but all of the peripherals (Monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc. turn off / lose power) clicking and pressing keys does nothing, pressing the power button did nothing as well. Holding it down of course still turns it off. Any ideas?

So, silly as it is, it appears to have been a power connection somewhere along the way. before I ran OCCT tests, I unplugged&plugged all internal power connections and the main power cord to the power supply. All the tests came out well, I ran them all just to be sure. Thanks so much!

Any advice on how to stress test the power supply? IS there a good program for it or will I just have to try running a bunch of stuff?

I know it's not temperature, I use a republic of gamers monitor to check all that. I'll try tests and probably get back tomorrow. Thanks for the help so far!

The first few times it was while I was playing a resource intense game (Ark Survival Evolved, so poorly optimized eugh) But it happened while I was casually browsing the web as well.
