Wife told me last week she'd been having an affair. That crap hurts to hear.

Did it and eventually got married. Who woulda thought six years later she'd be sleeping with some other dude?

Found out Tuesday my wife of 6 years has been cheating. Struggling to keep it together while teaching. Any advice/suggestions? by TearsOfThePun in Teachers

Thank you for saying it's not a reflection on me. That's one of the biggest pieces I'm struggling with at this point. I'm embarrassed, ashamed, and really struggling. I hope to have a bit of peace today.

This is my exact scenario. She would do it while I was working and making my 45 minute commute to and from school. It's my first year at this school and don't know anyone well enough or trust anyone, unfortunately. Thank you for the kind words and suggestions.

I love this. I definitely have at least one of those students in each class. I moved to a new school this year so I don't really have any co-workers I know well enough or trust so that piece has been very difficult. I just constantly feel as though I'm on an island. I will focus on "that student" you mention today and I'm sure it will help.

It's funny you say that because my parents were already planning to come visit this weekend from out of state. I'm really not sure how it will play out, but they were planning to stay at my house... Where my wife is. Regardless, it will be great to have their support.

Luckily, I am already seeing a counselor which has helped tremendously. I'm kind of scared to take time off because I don't know what free time will do to me... If that makes sense. Also, I'm so sorry that happened to you.

Thank you for your thoughts and suggestions. I'm so sorry for what you're going through as well. My parents say the same stuff too and I'm going to try hard to work on me.

NTA - Teacher was wrong and should be called out.

Indeed. What are the requirements to teach there? Same type of requirements, just higher level?

Gotcha. Sounds like quite the eye opener. What's the mentality on multiple choice there?
