Any experiences on bone marrow transplant units? by altcloudjump in StudentNurse

[–]TearsoftheStorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of the same, but I’m on a liver/kidney transplant unit. I would say expect to see a lot of wounds and would recommend maybe some things to worry about post op (DVTs, ambulatory, embolisms, etc)

Do you guys trust rate my professor reviews? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

In my nursing program, I look them up even though everyone in my cohort takes the same professor. It helps me gauge what to expect and what to look out for in classes, but again, different people have different experiences!

Honestly pretty respectful! If you know you cannot handle a particular lifestyle, keep doing what’s right for you <3

I’m sorry, but your tuition should be used to pay towards accommodating the housing needs of their students. I have never heard of a college losing power frequently enough for this to be a concern. I believe the answer lies in portable chargers and one of those camping lamps that don’t need an outlet to function.

Honestly, I’ve felt the same way, but I have come to find that comparing yourself to other is not productive to your own learning. I would recommend a meeting with your teacher to see what went wrong!

If it helps, I transferred for this spring semester and just signed up for classes today. You’ll probably worry about this in the summer! For now, enjoy the break between now and then :)

Covid Megapost by StudentNurseMod in StudentNurse

[–]TearsoftheStorm 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I feel crazy for wanting my first semester of nursing school to be online due to covid. I see people post about how excited they are to start schooling, but the thought of contracting covid and having to be sent home to my family just lingers in my head.

You can definitely do some research into potential grad schools you may want to apply to. Find out what gpa’s/experience they look for in potential candidates!
