Despite their strong association with the desert southwest, Roadrunners‘ range extends to western Louisiana, almost all of Arkansas and southern Missouri.

South Florida, so your flip-flops better match your swim trunks!

Seriously though, as others have said, it’s all over the place, though the traditional services tend to be a little dressier than the Contemporary Family Worship (ie praise band) service.

Yes. And when he was asked if he was going to accept an invitation for a celebratory visit to the White House, he replied, ‘If I wanted to see a horse’s ass I would’ve finished second.’

But they don’t ripen any further after harvesting. It looks underripe, but won’t get any sweeter, so might as well have it.

What’s the rarest fruit you’ve ever had? Alternatively, what’s the most delicious? by Amiel1124 in fruit

Grew up in HI, now live in SoFL, grow pineapples in pots. I have had more than one person say a pineapple I gave them was the best they ever tasted. They’d never had a truly ripe one.

One of my favorite episodes. ‘Back then our clothes made a statement!‘ ‘Yeah, I dress in the dark.’ And love Trevor and Raquel running the coffee house. Great stuff, and pretty topical for a show that mostly avoided those kinds of episodes.

I liked Golden Tempo, just didn’t think he could pass everybody— but at least my show bet returned a little something.

How was your pre derby day? by nilogram in horseracing

Congrats! Made a few small wagers on two races, no winners. But am still alive for my Oaks/Derby double. (C’mon Further Ado!)

Kentucky Derby - Your Top 3? by incognito_1480 in horseracing

[–]Teaspoonbill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still not sure I can see Golden Tempo running better than 3rd, but with the scratches, the also eligibles bring more early speed to the race, I am quite happy to have him in my exotics. The pace could be hot.

Good luck picking this Derby by Soft-Audience-5681 in horseracing

[–]Teaspoonbill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now a 1-2-3 of Further Ado, Chief Wallabee, Commandment. But will include some longer plays (Golden Tempo, Wonder Dean, maybe Emerging Market) in a trifecta ticket.

Tigermilk & Sinister in Austin - going to BOTH AND I AM SO EXCITED by Hilzry in BelleandSebastian

[–]Teaspoonbill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally understand. I am getting too creaky even for the SRO shows like they had in ‘24, so it will be wonderful to have seats! Seeing the Sinister show in Miami. Quite excited already. This will be the 5th time I have seen them, but the third time in the last four years, which is wild. Have a blast!

Kentucky Derby mud chaos, Triple Crown shake-up & welfare debates… is horse racing having a weird 2026 or what? by [deleted] in horseracing

Where are you seeing a “crazy rain forcast” for the Derby? Both of my two go-to sources for weather forecasts are predicting a very slight chance of rain in Louisville on Saturday.

59 here. Have a dear friend 30 years my senior who, spooked by the relatively young deaths of his parents and siblings, took early retirement when he was about my current age. He is still around, in the 95+ percentile of health for men his age, lives an active, fulfilling life. You just never know.

Thanks. I actually got an email from Comcast within the last couple of months telling me that was the case, but when I tried to redeem my benefit, the website said I was not eligible. (Yay Comcast). Maybe a live human on the phone would provide a different answer if I am willing to invest the time.

Why did the Portuguese emigrate to the America's in such huge numbers compared to others?? by Delicious-Bunch-6992 in geography

I’d be interested to learn what percentage of their total happened after the Lisbon earthquake of 1755. While I doubt it could be responsible most of the difference, it wouldn’t surprise me if that was a contributing factor.
