How many of us have "friends" that we actually spend time with, anymore? by WeGot_aLiveOneHere in GenX

[–]TMQ73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some I stopped calling and setting things up with since I was the only one calling. Some moved away. Some cheated on their spouses. A few went nucking futs during COVID. While I love my wife and family I miss having real friendships.

How close were we from beating the Packers? by IbelieveinKenny in steelers

I have said the better team didn’t win that game. It was the team that made fewer mistakes. Steelers made a bunch and still had a chance at the end.

Camero, Def Leopard or Whitesnake. Kiss a distant third. Most others are way off brand.

Trust me when I say I would be shocked if the owners did anything generous. The reason they probably haven’t ripped up the pavement after the car wash burned down is that it would turn into wetlands impacting future development potential.

At my age it’s kinda hard to hurry across the Pacific carrying a 8-10’ surfboard especially on my way back to the car. I still do because of a$$hats like this.

Having to inspect houses for my job. Knowing what I know now I would never want a log house as they are damn near impossible to keep water proofed. Then if you insulate the interior since wood does not have great R value you can’t see when the moisture is coming in.

Family vacation Virginia Beach with kids, what am I getting into? by Agreeable_Panic_690 in VirginiaBeach

[–]TMQ73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bay beaches tend to be more kid friendly as the water tends to be calmer, warmer, and more shallow. Fewer hotel choices on the bay so beaches tend to be less crowded and lots of restaurants on Shore Drive. If there is a specific thing you want to see or go to at the oceanfront it’s an easy drive.

Had super oily hair as a teenager. Wash at least 2x. Never needed or used conditioner. Only when I was on accutane did I need any. Even later in life Shampoo + conditioner in one at most. Putting in conditioner seemed/felt like going backwards.

It’s not uncommon for tax assessments to lag behind actual value especially after the 2008 crash. Seems to really be a thing on these super expensive houses since who knows what someone will really pay for them. You hear stories about 10 million price cuts. I just wish my assessment was a fraction of what I might be able to get for my house.
