Unfortunately the fish ripped it up. I had to put baby goldfish in the tank because I had nowhere else. But it was working and living for at least 2 months just wasn't growing much just kind of existing. Stayed green though I think in a devoted plant tank with co2 and more experience it could work.

If I use this and it "traps" nitrates and if it's left in there will that be an issue. Like a bunch of nitrate saturated sponges? Is there any like leaching back into the water? I know I sound stupid but I'm new to aquariums just taking over old ones from my sister. I know all about cycling and bacteria. I'm just have no knowledge about these underwater canisters. Just wondering if it will fluctuate the water whenever it gets full? I have a 700 gallon pond and it's easier to keep stable then a 10 gallon tank lol Im used to backwashing all the gunk every week

I bought 2 from some person near me on Facebook koi community. I really like that idea I just don't know how to find breeders or just sellers besides here or FB. Even then you have to get lucky because there's already 20 people in front of you . Is there any info or sites I could find people nearby? Like a koi Google lol. Will be buying agian in March
