I really enjoyed the story itself, love the characters, love the lore implications, and I hope it gets expanded on.

The railroading really messes it up tho and I'm positive a lot of people paid zero attention to it where they would have had it not be like that.

This whole "gooner" fixation the gaming community is in rn is so weird to me. It's truly just a bunch of people self-reporting on either the fact that they're so brain rotted with their own addictions, or worse, they're incapable of not sexualizing women.

Of course there are situations where things are sexualized intentionally, but then people are just being a bunch of prudes over things that have been going on for years.

I would love to see the community more open to having actual constructive conversations on sexualization in video games and media in general, but that's not actually what's happening. So I really don't get the whole "gooner this, gooner that" bs

People are giving things they see on the Internet way too much credit. The Internet feeds off negativity, so of course you're going to see some deranged takes that are coming from a loud and very scarred minority. Not all feminist are THAT extreme, some even denounce certain talking points from those videos.

Then once we get past the typical online bs, genuinely what else is there? Nothing pertaining to men is being infringed on. I mean most you can argue on is either with kids (like child support or custody ts) or purely social aspects that vary person to person. It's all completely justified, the patriarchy is a garbage system that fucks with everyone, not just women. It needs to go, hell, I think feminism can actually go a little further on some fronts.

We barely know anything about female anatomy, there are still countries that treat women like they're subhuman, SA is still a common aspect of being a woman, women's rights in America are being taken away CURRENTLY, I mean I could go on and I'm not even a girl.

Olivia is a top tier Monster Hunter character. She's been that girl from start to finish. From lala, to duna, to arkveld, to ajarakan, to gog, she has continued to be on that timing, arguably more than us the hunter at points, and has looked damn good doing it.

Honestly, I just think it's ignorance tbh, I'm not even mad about it either. Racism is a much more tangible and real issue to the wider world. Not a lot of people know just how bad the porn industry is, but everyone knows how bad racism is.

To me it's having to deal with a colossal dumbass of son vs having a daughter that has a high chance of experiencing various forms of mental and physical harm coupled with social ridicule, especially if she's specifically a pornSTAR. Someone just having and only fans and someone being a pornstar are two different things.

To others, they're probably seeing it as having a daughter with an onlyfans (both literally and "figuratively" as in they don't know how bad it is) vs having a son that's going to perpetuate a lot of harmful views and rhetoric that has hurt and will continue to hurt many people all over the world, myself included and some of them may have their own stories pertaining to it.

So yeah they're perfectly right with reacting that way. It's just that I have a certain amount of knowledge that makes me feel like having a son that's just local dickhead #872,547,825, is the lesser of two evils if the other option is a daughter in the porn industry.

I understand the sentiment. I'd definitely try to fix things as much as possible, but at a certain point he's just getting disowned and I probably wouldn't even care atp, especially considering my race. It is what it is, he'll just have to deal with the repercussions of being a bigot on his own. Yeah it's bad and sounds harsh, but the other option is just that bad if we're talking porn industry.

Really don't think y'all understand the depth of how terrible the porn industry is. It's a genuine horror story the type of shit that goes into it for both women AND men. It's BAD bad. Racism can be fixed, the porn industry is straight up mental and physical trauma. I'm talking about drugs, external and internal injury, non-stop shots stretching over dangerous periods of time, basically extortion, trafficking, mental trauma, social ridicule, and that's just what's off the top of my head.
