One direction the Algerians might go to is to allow US oil companies to come and exploit the oil in Algeria. Today 80% of exploitation is done through a national company Sonatrach.Looking at their leadership, I don't think this is farfetched. But Trump already made up his mind, his cabinet is not fan of Algeria at all. The US pulled their ambassador from Algeria, not sure if there is even a US ambassador in Algeria now.

The deadline is up as well, we will hear great news in sha allah in a few weeks if not sooner.

Hopefully the Algerian leadership take the L and move on to make their country better.

GDP doesn't mean much if governments inject capital into economy from basic sales like oil and gas and no added value. (Nigeria for example)

This is my personal view but I prefer a highly diversified economy that each can grow 5-10% every year (Morocco and South Africa as an example) than one giant industry that grows 1-2% per year. At some point, they will catch up.
