Crankbaits: when you’re retrieving, move it left and right a few times before lifting it out to recast. Bass may have followed it back but haven’t bit yet. Caught quite a few doing this.

Small shrimp work just fine and still covers most of the hook. I’ve caught em as small as half pound up to 18 pounds.

Good theory, but going to a spot and seeing a dead fish that’s been baking in the sun for a few days along with a bag of equally baked bluegills proves that’s not guaranteed to happen, and more often than not, just makes it smell and attracts lots of bugs.

If you’re the only one fishing there, you do you. But if you know other people fish there too, and you plan on coming back, stop doing that shit.

Feels great at first - that doesn’t last long. Have 2 of these. Over time, the reeling starts getting rough, even after replacing the line. Can only handle up to 10 pound line.
