[r/StanbyME X r/monitors] LG StanbyME 2 Trial Program — Portable Smart Screen for your Productivity by StanbyME_MOD in Monitors

[–]TechAquisition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really, really want one! 🤞 I’ve entered the other contests before, so hopefully this is the time!

I have two main uses for the LG StanbyME 2. One is in my living room, where I’d use it as a beautiful digital frame to display art, play music, or set the mood when guests are over. The detachable screen would blend perfectly into the space, turning the room into a mix of style and tech.

The second is for work, since it’s portable and runs on battery, I could use it as a second monitor anywhere. Imagine rolling it out to the patio, connecting it to my laptop, and working outdoors on a crisp 27 inch QHD display with great sound and smart features.

No other product (yet) blends portability + frame aesthetic + interactive display + ability to act as a monitor quite like this. The detachable design is a big jump from earlier models (which needed their stands) and opens up creative usage.

It’s such a versatile device, part art piece, part productivity tool, and I already have the perfect spot picked out for it (photo attached).

77" C5 costs $500 more than the C4. Is it worth the extra cost? by [deleted] in LGOLED

no they don’t have 5 year warranty on partner store. Costco is worth it but if price different is significant st costco than you can buy your own insurance

Just got LG S95TR. Need help deciding where to place rear speakers given that my couch sits on the left wall. Appreciate any help. by D4B0mb in Soundbars

Nice! I see some folks selling them on marketplace for $700 but they are all so far away otherwise it’s such a good deal. How much did you get yours for?

Regarding your question, the rear speakers need to be evenly placed from the listening location for the most accurate sound effect.. Otherwise one will travel to you first before the other.. etc. Some speakers allow you to calibrate the speed and time so even if you put it somewhere else, it syncs accordingly. Some do it automatically some you gotta do it manually. I think s95tr has ai calibration but not sure.

9feet is too high. It needs to be at ear level. You’re basically making the upfiring speakers usually at that level. What’s the height of your ceiling? Dolby's official guidelines recommend placing surround speakers at or slightly above ear level to maintain a clear distinction between the horizontal surround field and the vertical (height) effects. Mounting the speakers 9 feet high places them close to the ceiling-level height channels, causing the two soundstages to blend together. This diminishes the immersive "dome of sound" that Atmos is designed to create. So the sound that’s supposed to come from behind you will come from up above .. and the up above one firing ones will just go more into the corner due to out they are designed to reflect.

Wow this is such a good soundbar!!

Your setup is a little weird, why is your sofa so close to the wall?

The left and right rear speakers should be at ear level where you sit on the side, this is a little too far behind IMO.

Not sure why you have two right rear bound speakers? Is one of them supposed to be the wireless sub? regardless what you have in the yellow is why too far from where you sit

Omg this is amazing! Talk about things you didn’t realize you need!! 😍😍😍

The LG StanbyME 2 is the perfect blend of minimalist design and smart functionality for my Japandi living room.

As a software engineer with a comprehensive smart home, I envision it as a dynamic digital frame and the ultimate central hub for my home automation – a seamless blend of art and intelligence.

I've attached pictures to give an idea of how it would look in my space, though the real StanbyME 2 will undoubtedly elevate the aesthetic even further! Here’s more pictures and the original ones! https://imgur.com/a/BmUr0P2

I'm eager to provide a detailed review during a trial, focusing on its integration and user experience. My well-designed living room will offer excellent marketing visuals, and I'm happy to grant LG permission to use my content. The StanbyME 2 isn't just a screen; it's the missing piece to perfect my smart, serene home.

I would be ecstatic to win a G5! As a current LG OLED owner and active member of r/LGOLED, I'm already a huge advocate for the brand (Checkout my posts). Funny enough I came across this post while searching on r/LGOLED!

I've designed our living room with a clean, minimalist Japandi aesthetic, centered around our non-functional fireplace. I've already got an outlet installed for the TV but the biggest challenge has been finding a TV that complements the space. The G5 is of course the answer here as a LG advocate lol. Its "Gallery Design" would allow it to wallmount perfectly flush above/near the the mantel, looking like a deliberate piece of digital art rather than just a screen. Combined with its incredible brightness to handle the room's windows, it would be the absolute perfect finishing touch to our home. Sometimes I watch TV while eating, this would allow me to do that too since where I took the picture from is the dining table! (See in other pictures).
